Windsor Win 6 Preview | 18th January

12.20 TDJ Williams Waste Limited Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

ANARIZA had to shoulder a penalty cor her Wetherby success but that form looks strong, and with the prospect of more to come, she may have the class to defy it. HORNICA has shaped with promise on all three starts to date, including twice in this sphere, so she’s the other one to consider.

Tips: ANARIZA & HORNICA

12.50 Royal Windsor Horse Show Cup Novices’ Handicap Hurdle

SCORPIO RISING is progressing at a rate of knots and had plenty in hand when scoring handicap debut last time out. Even off an 8lb higher mark, the hat-trick could well be on the cards. MALDINI MILANO can also be considered on handicap debut after a comfortable win at Plumpton in November.

Tips: SCORPIO RISING & MALDINI MILANO

13.20 LSL Racing Auctions Hampton Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)

SALVER was let down by his jumping in a Grade 1 event at Kempton, but still ran well under the circumstances to finish fourth and is evidently better than that. He is back down in grade with headgear fitted and will handle the conditions well, so he’s the one to beat. MOON ROCKET could emerge as the biggest threat after a positive start to his chase career.

Tips: SALVER & MOON ROCKET

13.50 Fitzdares Extra Places Every Day Great Park Handicap Chase

TORNEO wasn’t far behind Mighty Bandit (N/R) at Newbury last time out and is generally consistent. He’s a standout second choice. HIGHLANDS LEGACY ran well when second last time out (two places in front of the former) and has a good chance of going one place better.

Tips: TORNEO & HIGHLANDS LEGACY

14.25 Weatherbys Racing Bank Handicap Hurdle

BOTOX HAS will handle conditions better than most and has become dangerously well handicapped if he can bounce back to somewhere near his best. With his rider taking off a huge 10lb, this multiple Grade 2 winner is worth an interest. LORD SNOOTIE remains lightly raced for his age and has placed in top end handicaps when on song, so off this exploitable mark with conditions to suit, Christian Williams’ charge could get that deserved success. I really like these two in this contest.

Tips: BOTOX HAS & LORD SNOOTIE

15.00 Fitzdares Fleur De Lys Chase

Ben Pauling and Jones continue in excellent form, therefore HANDSTANDS can be given a chance. He will be fitter than last year’s winner and has beaten some good horses so far in his career. If the wind surgery has brought about improvement, I can see him going well. Last year’s winner PROTEKTORAT must also enter the mix.

Tips: HANDSTANDS & PROTEKTORAT
