Sandown Place 6 Preview | 5th December

12.35 Daily Tips On Betting.Betfair ‘Introductory’ Juvenile Hurdle

An interesting race to start proceedings, with the marginal vote going to KALDOUN DES ROCS for the Skelton’s. He ran well when second on his hurdles debut in France and has joined a top yard ahead of this first outing in the UK. He could go well, as could KING AL, representing a stable that has a good record with juveniles.

Tips: KALDOUN DES ROCS & KING AL

13.10 Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase

I’m really liking the chances of KRAK. He placed on his first three starts in Ireland before signing off his time with that yard with an impressive victory at Cork. Highly tried on seasonal/stable debut for this yard when sixth in the Persian War, I find it fascinating to see him switched fences with that run under his belt. An opening mark of 129 seems very reasonable with his sights lowered, so I actually make him quite a confident choice.

Tips: KRAK

13.45 Betfair Winter Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2)

NO DRAMA THIS END looked all class when making a successful first start in this sphere at Cheltenham three weeks ago and could be a major contender for the Festival in March. Paul Nicholls appears to have a serious weapon on his hands to this robust five-year-old should prove very hard to beat with Grade 1 events within touching distance.

Tips: NO DRAMA THIS END

14.20 Betfair Esher Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)

The Moore’s often do well at this venue and the one that interests me is SALVER. He was very smart over hurdles, winning four times and running consistently well in defeat on numerous occasions, including when a neck-second in a Grade 2 here back in April. That form has worked out well with the first and third subsequently scoring on chase debut. After an encouraging third to Lulamba on his first go in this sphere last month, I’m really keen on him landing the spoils.

Tips: SALVER

CHAMPAGNE TWIST wasn’t far behind Hidden History when third at Aintree last time out and this swing in the weights could see him turn the tables. Ben Pauling and Ben Jones are flying this season and the seven-year-old is likely to take a huge step forward from his chase debut. Under a positive ride, I think he represents good value.

Tips: CHAMPAGNE TWIST

15.30 Betfair Racing Podcasts ‘Four Years Old’ Handicap Hurdle

TORRENT was clearly far from his best at Ascot last time and is better judged on previous form which would give him a serious chance off this mark. The four-year-old is dropped significantly in class and can compete off a 2lb lower mark. If this multiple Grade 2 place youngster brings his A-game, then I feel as though he’s a cracking play.

Tips: TORRENT
