Worcester Place 6 Preview | 22nd October

13.00 Richard Davis Memorial Beginners’ Chase

Grade 1 runner-up over hurdles, WENDIGO is expected to make his mark at the highest level over fences this season. Jamie Snowden’s charge ran a huge race when fifth in the Albert Bartlett when last seen and should prove hard to beat on his seasonal/chase debut.

Tips: WENDIGO

13.30 Fred & Mercy Rimell Memorial Handicap Chase

Plenty to consider in this event, with the marginal vote going the way of bottom-weight DROMLAC JURY. The mare has finished third in two stronger events the last twice, including at Cheltenham last time out. Getting weight from all of her rivals, she could have a part to play.

Tips: DROMLAC JURY

14.00 Step Into Luxury With Purple Granite NH Flat Race

The Harry Eustace-trained GLANCING JACK shaped promisingly when runner-up on debut over C&D last month and is sure to have learned a lot from the experience. With a distance advantage over most, he should be firmly in the mix at the business end.

Tips: GLANCING JACK

14.35 Ashok Patel Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

HERON IN THE PARK made a sparkling debut at Newbury back in March, but where she travelled powerfully and won with any amount in hand under the retained Harry Cobden. With the future looking bright form Tom George’s mare, she can make a successful start over hurdles.

Tips: HERON IN THE PARK

15.10 Ashok Patel Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

I’m going to side with WHITE NOISE, who made a pleasing start to this sphere when third at Ffos Las back in April. She was clearly learning on the job and made late progress when the penny dropped. With more to offer, Tom Bellamy’s mount looks like a key player.

Tips: WHITE NOISE

15.45 Vellacotts & Smiths Go Racing Handicap Hurdle

LUCKY BERE has placed on all four starts to date in this sphere, three of which have been in stronger events. An opening mark of 108 on handicap debut seems lenient on balance and he’s undergone wind surgery since he was last seen. With Harry Cobden booked, I can see him running very well.

Tips: LUCKY BERE
