Windsor Place 6 Preview | 4th August
17.10 Vegas Racenight Coming To Windsor Handicap
SIR WILLIAM wasn’t seen to the best effect when third at Doncaster last time out, but the handicapper has given him a serious chance off this 3lb lower mark. He placed in a much tougher race at Chester earlier in the year and is fancied to get the better of two last-time-out winners.
Tips: SIR WILLIAM
17.45 Get Raceday Ready EBF Restricted Novice Stakes
ANGEL OF ANFIELD may be the answer to this event. Despite being narrowly beaten last time out, Tom Clover’s charge has improved with each start and is dropped in grade. This son of Harry Angel has the course form, having finished runner-up here two starts ago and should prove hard to beat.
Tips: ANGEL OF ANFIELD
18.20 Get Raceday Ready EBF Restricted Novice Stakes
Having shaped with promise on all three starts to date, this race appears to be a golden opportunity for WESTEND MUSIC to get off the mark. She ran well to finish fifth here two starts back in a race that has worked out well prior to being denied by only a head at Catterick last month. Jim Crowley takes over and Richard Hughes’ filly has every chance.
Tips: WESTEND MUSIC
18.50 Mexican Fiesta Racenight Coming To Windsor Nursery
WOODY Y FERNANDEZ is another runner on the card that has displayed race progression and came close to scoring at Catterick last month when finishing third. He wouldn’t need to improve much more to open his account. He can build on that latest showing and defeat the market leader Squadron Leader.
Tips: WOODY Y FERNANDEZ
19.20 Windsor Summer Saturday Closing Party Classified Stakes
I really like the claims of MARCHETTI, who appreciated the step up in trip when finishing strongly to take fourth at Chepstow last time out despite a troubled passage. The way she surged home under tentative handling late on is an indication she’s on the verge of a return to winning ways. I think she’s a major player off this pound lower figure.
Tips: MARCHETTI
19.53 Windsor Oktoberfest Novice Stakes
This should be straightforward for FIRST PRINCIPLE despite his prohibitive odds. He beat a decent field on debut at Kempton before his narrow defeat at Thirsk. With by far and large the best form on offer, it would come as a major surprise if William Haggas’s charge couldn’t make it two wins from three starts.
Tips: FIRST PRINCIPLE
