Wincanton Place 6 Preview | 25th February
13.50 Happy 18th Birthday James Dunford Maiden Hurdle
AGUELLID has been unfortunate to bump into one on his last couple of starts but he’s only going to improve with more racing and I think he’s a solid option to at least make the frame. A strongly-run contest should be right up his street, so he’s selected under Harry Cobden.
Tips: AGUELLID

It’s about time PLANTAROMA registered a first win under rules. She has placed in eight of her 13 career outings and is back over hurdles following two decent showings over fences. The top-weight won’t have many better opportunities to finally get her head in front, so she’s strongly fancied in this event.
Tips: PLANTAROMA

THE LONG POINT improved significantly from his two previous chase starts to comfortably get the job done at Doncaster and has undergone wind surgery since. The handicapper has only reacted by putting him up 3lb, so there’s no reason why he can’t record back-to-back wins.
Tips: THE LONG POINT
15.20 Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series Handicap Hurdle
LE SOLEIL REVE is proving largely consistent, winning once and placing four times from five efforts in this sphere and only found one too good over track and trip last month. With more to offer, representing a stable going well, the five-year-old looks sure to be thereabouts.
Tips: LE SOLEIL REVE

HATOS returned to form with a decent second at Fontwell last time out and is very well handicapped on peak efforts. He has good course form and the last time he won was off a mark of 101 (at this venue). Off a career-low figure of 83 against an exposed bunch, Brendan Powell can guide him to an overdue success.
Tips: HATOS
16.20 Pointing Pointers Dick And Sue Woodhouse Memorial Hunters’ Chase
The Olly Murphy-trained THUNDER ROCK isn’t the force of old but he came very close to winning here last time out and his back class should see him prove too good for this field. This multiple Listed winner is the one to beat and can get the better of Fan De Blues, who has gained most wins over shorter trips.
Tips: THUNDER ROCK
