Wetherby Place 6 Preview | 31st October
12.47 bet365 ‘Chasing Excellence’ Beginners’ Chase
None of the three can be ruled out. THE FOUR SIXES recorded back-to-back wins during the spring over hurdles, and while his two previous chase starts were disappointing, he could be worth another chance now that his confidence has been restored.
SIXMILEBRIDGE found it a step too far in Grade 1 company last time out, but had won his three previous starts, featuring a Grade 2 win at Cheltenham and has a chance on chase bow. MUSIQUE DE FEE has work to do with her two rivals but was a game winner at Cartmel when last seen.
Tips: THE FOUR SIXES, SIXMILEBRIDGE & MUSIQUE DE FEE
13.17 Best Odds Guaranteed At bet365 Maiden Hurdle
A chance is taken on BALLYLICKY BAY, who did plenty wrong on debut back in June at Bangor, but still managed to succeed.
Blue Carpet could be hard to topple but the latter appeals as the sort of horse that will advance her form with a set of obstacles. She is fancied to cause a bit of an upset.
Tips: BALLYLICKY BAY
13.47 bet365 Handicap Hurdle
GLEN ROAD has undergone wind surgery since scoring for the second time over timber at Bangor back in April and could continue where he left off.
WILLIETHEBUILDER likes it here though, with a win and a second from two outings and returns with Sean Bowen on his back. He could be in the mix on stable debut for Christian Williams.
Tips: GLEN ROAD & WILLIETHEBUILDER
14.20 Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle
The James Owen-trained AMMES has undoubtedly translated his strong Flat form to this sphere, winning both hurdle starts, including when scoring by 11 lengths at Chepstow three weeks ago.
He must have every chance of landing this Listed prize. Hurdle newcomer ENZIYA seems overpriced based on the fact he won on the Flat when last seen in Ireland. I can see him outrunning his odds.
Tips: AMMES & ENZIYA
14.55 Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap Chase
THISTLE ASK has flourished so far over fences, winning his last two starts and beat Rare Edition with plenty in hand last time out. This is a step up in grade, but he’s on an upward trajectory and should go well in his hat-trick bid.
TOMMY’S OSCAR shaped nicely on his return at Kelso and is 6lb below his last winning figure. The 10-year-old hardly runs a bad race and should give this a good go despite his big weight.
Tips: THISTLE ASK & TOMMY’S OSCAR
15.30 Racing Value At bet365 Handicap Hurdle
Having placed on her last three starts in this sphere, LILLISTAR could be set to go well. She was a winner on the Flat at the start of this month and has no weight on her back with Brian Hughes taking the ride.
THANK YOU BLUE is 6lb below his last winning mark and is another to consider.
Tips: LILLISTAR & THANK YOU BLUE
