Wetherby Place 6 Preview | 17th March

14.02 Entertain In Style At Wetherby Racecourse Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle

Dan Skelton’s SALLYVILLE LADY has shown a fair level of form on all three bunker starts and should be winning soon. She went very close on debut at Warwick and this isn’t a strong event, so she’s fancied to go close in the opener.

Tips: SALLYVILLE LADY

It might be worth taking a look at ARTHUR’S QUAY, who is 2lb lower than when a comfortable winner of a higher-graded event at Newcastle in February last year. The veteran has been largely consistent since and could get involved back in calmer waters. His trainer Ben Haslam is in excellent form as well.

This looks quite competitive but BERRY EDGE was so impressive over C&D 19 days ago that I reckon he can repeat the success if able to stage a similar performance off only an 8lb higher figure. He has more to come in this sphere, so hopefully another bold bid is on the cards.

KALHANDRION has undoubtedly raised his game since going chasing, winning two of his five starts and was a dominant winner from the front at Exeter three weeks ago. A small 4lb rise seems lenient given that the latest event was stronger, so Richard Hobson’s likeable front runner can register another win in this sphere.

Tips: KALHANDRION

Plenty to consider in this contest but the Morgan vote goes to INTO THE PARK. He’s used to running in stronger races and finds himself back on the same mark as when winning on handicap debut. The seven-year-old is well worth an experiment over this distance, so if he does stay, then I see no reason why he won’t pose a serious threat.

16.55 Jumps Finale – Friday 27th March NH Flat Race

There was plenty to like about the way MINELLA PREMIER got the job done on debut. Richard Hobson’s exciting youngster did well to defeat an odds-on favourite on testing ground at Fontwell and is the one to beat under a penalty,

Tips: MINELLA PREMIER
