12.20 – Racing TV Free For A Month ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m

An interesting Novices’ Hurdle to start Warwick’s afternoon seven-race card.

Chris Gordon’s TWOMINUTES TURKISH has to shoulder a penalty for his facile victory on hurdle debut when making his reappearance three weeks ago but he looks a useful prospect for connections and should be tough to kick out of the frame with his yard amongst the winners.

He’s marginally preferred to Dan Skelton’s CADZAND, who was placed in a couple of bumpers last season including here and made a promising start to his hurdling career when second on hurdle debut at Ayr. With more improvement to come, he looks the alternative answer.

Selections: TWOMINUTES TURKISH, CADZAND

12.55 – Start Your RacingTV Free Trial Now Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f

A few of these offer potential in this sphere now down to well-treated handicap marks and ARIAN has an excellent chance to make it 2-2 for her new yard. She impressed when easily winning on debut for Philip Hobbs last month and although she’s been raised 7Ib, she had plenty in the tank that day to suggest she can go close again with a similar effort.

SHAMBRA was possibly the best of these over hurdles having won off a 4Ib higher mark in a higher graded contest this time last year. She was far from disgraced when fourth following a seven-month absence at Fontwell on debut over fences when last seen and should have more to offer here as a result.

Of the rest, MARTILA hasn’t won since 2017, but she’s another who looks well-treated and has to be respected with the step back up in trip likely to increase her chances.

Selections: ARIAN, SHAMBRA, MARTILA

13.30 – Try Racing TV For Free Now Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m5f

Olly Murphy’s Alpha Carinae has to be respected and judged on her caste in defeat effort behind Aggy With It at Market Rasen, who franked the form by winning next time out impressively.

However, the vote goes to Alan King’s THE GLANCING QUEEN who is potentially a level-above these rivals based on her excellent form bumper a couple of seasons back. Essentially, she was a Grade Two winner at the 2019 Aintree Grand National meeting and is expected to relish the switch to hurdles and is a good prospect for this sphere with a fitness-edge courtesy of a couple of recent spins on the flat. She is the only selection in the third leg of our Warwick tips.

Selections: THE GLANCING QUEEN

14.05 – Highflyer Bloodstock Novices’ Chase – 2m

Just the three runners go to post, but any of these have the class to win and, therefore, I want to have all three runners on our ticket.

Paul Nicholls’ STRATAGEM ran poorly at Cheltenham when last seen, but he showed plenty of promise over hurdles last season and looks tailor-made for fences, particularly with his four-year-old allowance taking into consideration.

There was a lot of positives about QUICK GRABIM’s runner-up effort on chase debut last time out. He jumped impeccably that day and is open to even further improvement being a former Grade One winner over hurdles.

PHOENIX WAY is lightly-raced for his age but looks promising and although this trip might be on the short side, he has the size and scope to make up into a decent chaser.

Selections: PHOENIX WAY, QUICK GRABIM, STRATAGEM

14.40 – Jumps At Home With Free Racing TV Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

STAR OF RORY has improved dramatically since the application of a tongue-tie. His visit to Cheltenham on his reappearance wasn’t a bad effort and he should be able to make a much bigger impact here with his stamina assured and proven form at a higher level in comparison to this grade on his CV.

MINELLA MOJO looks well-treated off a mark of 112. He’s run very well on both previous visits to this track and shaped encouragingly when fifth at Wincanton 24 days ago. From a 2Ib lower mark here, he’s an each-way player.

METHAG has proved she can be competitive from this sort of mark and has been in good form of late to suggest she can play a significant role in the finish under ideal conditions.

Selections: STAR OF RORY, MINELLA MOJO, METHAG

15.15 – racingtv.com Veterans’ Handicap Chase – 3m

This looks fiercely-competitive but I’ll take a chance on a couple of participants.

Trainer Colin Tizzard has his team firing just now and, with that, his runner THEATRE GUIDE has to be considered. His last win might have come four years ago but there’s still a bit of life in him and his sliding mark along with Paddy Brennan reunited with him makes him an appearance proposition.

VINTAGE CLOUDS has been a very good servant for connections over the years but since his success in the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase last season, he’s been hit hard by the handicapper. Having said that, he’s been dropped 2Ib since his encouraging return to action at Aintree last month and he should go well.

Selections: THEATRE GUIDE, VINTAGE CLOUDS
