Warwick Place 6 preview | 31st December

11.55 – Poundland Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

HIGHLAND GETAWAY has hinted at promise in both starts to date and makes his handicap debut off a lenient mark plus his trainer is in excellent form. He should go well, while LUCKY BOUNCE was narrowly denied last time and could go one better here.

Selections: HIGHLAND GETAWAY, LUCKY BOUNCE

12.25 – Poundland EBF Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m5f

VICTORIAS PEAK sets a pretty good standard in this race. She has run with credit in each of her three starts this term, including when third at Ascot last time, and returns to novice company with a good chance. The combination of first-time headgear and a seven pound claimer could see her collect the spoils here.

Selections: VICTORIAS PEAK

13.00 – Poundland – Proud To Support Warwick Racecourse Handicap Chase – 2m

SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL has made the frame in all of his last four starts and has only found one too good in three of his last four. Despite being one of the lowest rated in the field, he could go one better here. TEMPLIER won this last year and should make a bold bid to defend his title.

Selections: SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, TEMPLIER

13.35 – Poundland Handicap Hurdle – 3m2f

Nicky Martin has his team in good form and LUCKY SO AND SO, who has run with promise in all three starts over hurdles, could make an impact on his handicap debut. ONE FER MEMMA is one-from-one over C&D and should be competitive off bottom-weight here.

Selections: LUCKY SO AND SO, ONE FER MEMMA

14.10 – Poundland Conditional Jockeys’ Veterans’ Handicap Chase – 3m

GWENCILY BERBAS has struggled since winning at Exeter last December but has mostly been competing in stronger races than this and has a chance back down in class. SMUGGLER’S BLUE remains on a dangerous mark and could gain compensation for his late fall last time.

Selections: GWENCILY BERBAS, SMUGGLER’S BLUES

14.45 – Poundland Handicap Chase – 2m4f

LOUNGE LIZARD isn’t straightforward but he’s been consistent over hurdles so far and should make more of an impact on his chase debut with a couple runs under his belt this term. MISTER WATSON ran well when third on his chase debut at Bangor and has strong claims off the same mark.

Selections: LOUNGE LIZARD, MISTER WATSON
