Warwick Place 6 preview | 11th February

13.30 – Virgin Bet Warwick Castle Handicap Chase – 2m4f

STOLEN SILVER has a good record at Cheltenham and was fourth in the Plate at last year’s Festival. He was a good second behind Midnight River when last spotted and a similar showing here could see him go one better.

MESSIRE DES OBEAUX didn’t run well last time but is the type to bounce back and his back-class cannot be disputed. MACKENBURG has won 5 of his 6 chase starts and is a player too, though KNIGHT IN DUBAI has a chance as well in what is a tricky opener.

Selections: STOLEN SILVER, MESSIRE DES OBEAUX, MACKENBURG, KNIGHT IN DUBAI

14.05 – Virgin Bet Best Odds Daily Warwick Mares’ Hurdle – 2m5f

LOVE ENVOI is a high-class mare, who’s only defeat in her career was at the expense of Brandy Love in Ireland last term. She is the clear form pick, has won both her two starts this season, and it seems all systems go for the Mares at the Cheltenham Festival. She has won over track and trip and probably has even more to come, so Harry Fry’s charge is expected to win this and win it impressively under Johnny Burke.

Selections: LOVE ENVOI

14.40 – Virgin Bet Kingmaker Novices’ Chase – 2m

It is also hard to see past JONBON, who’s unbeaten in this sphere, and beat two decent horses over C&D on his chase debut. His only loss to date has been at the hands of stablemate Constitution Hill over hurdles and he was impressive in winning the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices’ Chase when last seen. He should be too good for his two rivals here.

Selections: JONBON

15.13 – Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Novices’ Hurdle – 2m

This is an excellent chance for the Fergal O’Brien-trained HULLNBACK to make it two wins from three starts over hurdles. He was a very good bumper horse, who was second in a Grade 2 at Aintree, and has taken well to hurdles. He comfortably beat some good horses at Haydock when last seen and that form has a lot of substance. He is undoubtedly the one to beat.

Selections: HULLNBACK

15.48 – Virgin Bet Daily Price Boosts Handicap Hurdle – 2m

HARTUR D’OUDAIRIES won over C&D on his hurdles debut and shaped well on his return when second at Exeter. He has to be considered a major player with more to come. OPENING BID likes it here though, who twice finished second here late last year and resumed winning ways in game style last time. He should be thereabouts.

Selections: HARTUR D’OUDAIRIES, OPENING BID

16.23 – Virgin Bet Fives Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f

DIMESTONE COWGIRL won smoothly on her handicap debut last month and is likely to take some beating with more to come. IMPERIAL ALEX drops in grade ahead of his handicaps debut and this race should reveal more. He could surprise a few here.

Selections: DIMESTORE COWGIRL, IMPERIAL ALEX
