Stratford Place 6 preview | 13th March

13.30 – Oncourse Bookmakers Welcome You To Stratford Handicap Chase – 2m

GRANDEUR DAME opened his account at the third time of asking in this sphere last time and a 5Ib rise shouldn’t prevent him from making a bold bid to potentially follow-up. GREENROCK ABBEY scored in good style at Hereford in January and has finished second since. He is the biggest danger to the former.

Selections: GRANDEUR DAME, GREENROCK ABBEY

14.05 – Find The Best Odds Oncourse Juvenile Hurdle – 2m2f

BLUEGRASS should appreciate the step up in distance having been doing his best work in the closing stages over the minimum distance. He was the best of these on the Flat and whilst he comes up against an odds-on favourite who is well-regarded, the former is fancied to cause a supposed “upset” according to his odds.

Selections: BLUEGRASS

14.40 – Cash Is King In The Ring Handicap Chase – 2m6f

ANIMAL is only 3Ib above his last winning mark and has placed in two of his four starts this term, so he should be competitive in this weak race. ICAQUE DE L’ISLE has performed with credit in each of his three starts in the UK and is favoured by the weights, so this could be the time he comes good with lots in his favour.

Selections: ANIMAL, ICAQUE DE L’ISLE

15.15 – Better Value With Racecourse Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle – 2m

GUMBALL is very smart when at his best and has won/placed off higher marks in stronger events than this in the past. His rider takes off 7Ib and if the return to the smaller obstacles works the oracle, he could outclass these. IN THIS WORLD won impressively on his hurdles debut and makes his handicap debut off a nice mark. Major player.

Selections: GUMBALL, IN THIS WORLD

15.50 – Service With A Smile Oncourse Bookmakers Novices’ Hunters’ Chase – 2m4f

HOMME D’UN SOIR made a winning chase debut back in August and is the one to beat on these ratings. I am surprised he isn’t clear favourite with the best form on offer under rules, as Time Leader won a weak race when last spotted and needs more. The former Irish raider should be tough to beat.

Selections: HOMME D’UN SOIR

16.25 – See You At Cheltenham Open Maiden NH Flat Race – 2m

RASCAL is nicely bred and could be useful. His future certainly lies over fences but he could go well on his debut at decent odds. BALLEE should improve from his debut fifth and his stable has made a good start to the season. He could be competitive with improvement on the cards.

Selections: BALLEE, RASCAL
