SALT ROCK recorded a second consecutive win in this sphere when scoring at Doncaster last month. That form has been boosted with the third-placed horse winning since, so despite his big weight, the hat trick could be on the cards. KAYCE DUTTON has improved with each start in this sphere and is feared most on the back of his second at Huntingdon last month.

BARRY FIFE shaped nicely on his rules debut when fifth at Wetherby, and with more to come, this six-year-old should be able to make more of an impact on this occasion. TOP JIMMY left plenty to work on when keeping on to finish fourth at Market Rasen on debut and is another note, along with NAZARE. The latter confirmed the promise of his debut C&D second when going one place better at Huntingdon and must be considered as a major player.

BEAU QUALI has finished second in two of his four completed starts since joining the Skelton’s and was all but set to land a thin race at Newcastle until falling three out. This is tougher, but he’s clearly getting stronger with each outing in the UK and all of the experience that he has gained can see him finally open his account.

Given how impressive he was when sauntering to success at Uttoxeter last month, I’ll stick with OWL OF ATHENS to prove that effort was no fluke. He’s been hit with an 11lb rise for that success but is probably still ahead of the assessor, so he’s fancied to double his tally over timber.

The in-form ASA made it two wins from his last three starts last week at Catterick and if in similar form turned out quickly, she has every chance. OUR PINK LADY, OCEAN LEGACY and MOBILE MAMMA could also get involved if able to put their best foot forward.
