Sedgefield Place 6 Preview | 19th February
13.23 Fairlight Studios Novices’ Hurdle
The opener should be an easy task for FOLLOW YOUR LUCK to get the job done. He was very impressive when scoring on debut under rules over C&D a couple of weeks ago and is a confident choice.
Tips: FOLLOW YOR LUCK
13.58 Canine Premier Flex Plus Joint Supplement Handicap Chase
DOUBLE DIGITS is another short priced favourite on the card but should be able to follow up his recent C&D success. Considering how much he hand in hand, winning by six lengths, I see no reason why he can’t produce another personal best off only a 7lb higher mark. As a back up though, I’ll cover him with Ben Pauling’s ROYSSE.
Tips: DOUBLE DIGITS
14.33 Sign Lead Your Horse To Water Handicap Hurdle
I’m going to take a chance on SPIKE JONES, who has the ability to have a major say in the outcome. He is a pound lower than when winning a stronger race at Lingfield in November of 2024 and has placed in tougher events off stiffer marks. Eased in class following a fourth at Sandown against superior opposition, I can see him going very well.
Tips: SPIKE JONES
15.08 Roxyfet Sports Lounge For Private Hire Handicap Chase
The card is full of hot favourites and it’s difficult to oppose DEFENCE WITNESS, who has improved with each start this season and returned as a good winner at Catterick when last seen. Even off a 4lb higher figure, it would come as a surprise if he couldn’t go in again given his opponents are out of form.
Tips: DEFENCE WITNESS
15.43 Happy Birthday Becca Handicap Hurdle
I quite like the look of NORTH PARADE, who was successful the last time he was seen in this grade and has been solid in defeat without victory since then. His mark is slowly sliding and he was an eye-catcher when fourth in a tougher contest at Haydock last time out. The 11-year-old must have solid claims.
Tips: NORTH PARADE
16.17 MW Civils And Groundworks Handicap Chase
MERSEY STREET was an all-the-way winner at this venue last time out and a 6lb higher mark shouldn’t prevent another bold bid. After only five starts in this sphere, there should be plenty more to come and an unlikely soft lead should see the eight-year-old register another course win.
Tips: MERSEY STREET
