Sandown Place 6 Preview | 6th December

12.10 Betfair Exchange Claremont Novices’ Hurdle

An extremely competitive opener with five last-time-out winners taking to the stage. However, SOBER GLORY made it five wins from five starts when bolting up by 12 lengths on hurdles/seasonal debut at Chepstow last month.

From what we have seen, the five-year-old looks well above-average and connections have booked Harry Cobden to ride. With conditions also in his favour, this smart prospect can land this Listed event before moving up in grade.

Tips: SOBER GLORY

Lots to consider in this event. DRAMATIC ENCORE has run well in defeat on two subsequent starts since scoring first time out in this sphere and is respected.

LOOKING AS YOU ARE is more exposed than most but could run well, while SUNSET MARQUESA, RING O ROSES and CRAZIERTHANDAISY are others to make a case for.

Tips: DRAMATIC ENCORE, LOOKING AS YOU ARE SUNSET MARQUESA, RING O ROSES & CRAZIERTHANDAISY

13.20 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle

LAVENDER MOB HILL loved the step up in distance when destroying a good field at Cheltenham last time out, and a repeat showing, with more to come, could see James Owen’s charge prove difficult to beat.

SUPREMELY WEST has form on soft ground and could go well for the Skelton’s, as could the Paul Nicholls-trained ABSOLUTELY DOYEN, who bids to make it four wins on the spin.

Tips: LAVENDER MOB HILL, SUPREMELY WEST & ABSOLUTELY DOYEN

13.50 Betfair Henry VIII Novices’ Chase (Grade 1)

It’s hard to see past the top-class Grade 1 winner LULAMBA. One of last season’s leading juvenile hurdlers has won four of his five starts and was an impressive 10-length winner on chase debut at Exeter last month.

His four-year-old allowance is a significant bonus. He has so much more to offer and is a confident choice to register a second top-level success. I think he will prove too good for his three rivals.

Tips: LULAMBA

14.25 Bet At Your Best With Betfair Handicap Hurdle

HONKY TONK HIGHWAY is unbeaten in two course starts and should come on plenty from her comeback run at Bangor. She looks well handicapped on the pick of her form to date and could be set to run a big race.

Stablemate KATEIRA also has the ability to go well, while KNICKERBOCKERGLORY, who represents the same camp and soft-ground lover METIER are others to consider in a fascinating event.

Tips: HONKY TONK HIGHWAY, KATEIRA, KNICKERBOCKERGLORY & METIER

15.00 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1)

Three-time Grade 1 winner II ETAIT TEMPS beat JONBON when collecting the Celebration Chase over C&D in April and was a good winner on his return at Clonmel last month.

He is the one to beat, though JONBON has a great record here and aims to win this for the third year in succession. He should come on plenty from his return at Cheltenham and is feared most.

Tips: Il ETAIT TEMPS & JONBON
