Sandown Place 6 Preview | 24th April

13.20 bet365 Handicap

HYPNOTISED beat a subsequent winner when successful at Southwell back in September and looks as though he’s been let in lightly on handicap debut off 82. He could strike for Colin Keane and Harry Charlton. CALICO BLUE bolted up on his last two starts last season and is also of interest on his return.

Tips: HYPNOTISED & CALICO BLUE

13.50 bet365 Esher Cup Handicap

I’m marginally favouring ORGANISE over Nobody Knows in the battle of the unbeaten youngsters. John and Thady Gosden’s charge has landed both outings in the manner of a potential top-class horse and is well worth his place at this higher level. He is fancied to take this under James Doyle en route to moving up in grade.

Tips: ORGANISE

14.25 bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes (Group 3)

DEVIL’S ADVOCATE shaped nicely on his comeback when second at Kempton and might be able to put that fitness to good use. KING OF CITIES has Group-winning form in the book and Ryan Moore will take the ride. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him seriously involved.

Tips: DEVIL’S ADVOCATE & KING OF CITIES

15.00 bet365 Mile (Group 2)

The unbeaten ZEUS OLYMPIOS went from strength-to-strength last season and could be set to a huge season. He’s already rated 120 and Karl Burke has got his season off to a flyer, so with Ryan Moore in the saddle, he can get the better of Field Of Gold. OPERA BALLO does have race-fitness on his side though and is also progressive, so he’s selected as the alternative.

Tips: ZEUS OLYMPIOS & OPERA BALLO

15.35 bet365 Classic Trial (Group 3)

Group 1 runner-up ACTION might be able to make a winning return. He came within half-a-length of taking the Futurity Stakes when last seen and his effort can be marked up considering it was the first time he encountered testing conditions. The fifth subsequently won the Craven Stakes to boost the form, so having the best form and being worthy of his rating, Ryan Moore can guide him to victory.

Tips: ACTION

16.10 bet365 ‘Wild Card’ Fillies’ Novice Stakes

It was a taking debut from FELICITAS when a comfortable winner at Lingfield in December and that form has worked out quite well. There is no reason why she cannot translate that sort of performance to the grass and prove that success to be no fluke. She’s a big player for the in-form Ed Walker team.

Tips: FELICITAS
