Sandown Place 6 preview | 17th June

13.40 – racingtv.com/freetrial Handicap – 1m1f

THE PARENT ran a good race when fourth here on debut and has improved his form since, winning once and placing twice. He ran well on his return at Doncaster when third and is on the same mark for this contest, so he’s a definite for place material. JOHN CHARD VC clearly needed his return at Goodwood and this should reveal more. A mark of 83 surely underestimates him.

Tips: THE PARENT, JOHN CHARD VC

14.15 – Aspall Cyder 1728 Handicap – 1m

BALTIMORE BOY caught the eye on his reappearance to finish a staying-on fourth of 15 at Ascot and that form has worked out well with the second and third running well since. If he doesn’t get himself too far back, he should be going close from an unchanged mark. FIRST VIEW has a record of 11211 over a mile on the turf and warmed for this with a couple of spins in Dubai. He has a better chance than his odds imply for Godolphin.

Tips: BALTIMORE BOY, FIRST VIEW

14.50 – Molson Coors Scurry Stakes (Listed) – 5f

PERDIKA is a bit of a winning machine and already has two Listed wins to her name. She was last seen winning in France and her third behind Azure Blue reads very well. She gets five pounds from Great State and the pace of this race should really suit, so William Buick can guide her to success. I really like her claims.

Tips: PERDIKA

15.35 – Watch RacingTV Free For 31 Days Handicap – 7f

CARAGIO was disappointing at York when last seen but is better than that and his fourth in the Group 3 Horris Hill is decent form. He could bounce back in a race that should suit. I’ll also add in BUSSENTO, who will be better back on nicer ground and his neck second to Exoplanet is strong form given the winner is now rated 97. I will be surprised if he doesn’t prove better than a mark of 82 and should be competitive.

Tips: CARAGIO, BUSSENTO

16.00 – Darley British EBF Maiden Stakes – 1m1f

KATHAB was a good second to Passenger on debut at Newmarket before finishing third at York, which was a good race for the grade. With more to come, he could easily open his account, though CRACKSKING displayed plenty of promise when third on debut and is another that is open to improvement and could figure.

Tips: KATHAB, CRACKSKING

16.35 – Start Your RacingTV Free Trial Now Fillies’ Handicap – 1m

SONEMOS was nowhere to be seen in her first three starts but has looked a different proposition since switching to handicaps, in which she was second at Kempton before easily going one better at Leicester. She should be thereabouts. LUDMILLA went pretty close on her handicap debut at Newbury and should appreciate the step up in trip. She’s heavily respected with Ryan Moore in the saddle.

Tips: SONEMOS, LUDMILLA
