Sandown Place 6 Preview | 13th June

13.00 British EBF Novice Stakes

RISING POWER is the standard-setter based on the impression he created when successful on debut at Newmarket. The form is already working out well, so even under a penalty, he should take a bit of beating in the opener for William Buick and Charlie Appleby.

Tips: RISING POWER

13.30 Chris Barnett Memorial Handicap

Improving sprinter ALL WAYS GLAMOROUS made it two wins from his last three starts when scoring at Windsor just under three weeks ago, and having seen the form taken a boost when the third, HK Forteen, return as a subsequent winner, the selection should give another solid showing of himself with improvement forthcoming. Last year’s winner JENEVER is of interest in refitted cheekpieces.

Tips: ALL WAYS GLAMOROUS & JENEVER

14.05 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes

A difficult race to assess. However, it’s possible one or more of the newcomers could turn out to be above average. SABA DESERT represents a stable that does well with debutants and is being backed as if defeat is out of question. WATERFORD CASTLE for the Ralph Beckett team are others to consider.

Tips: SABA DESERT & WATERFORD CASTLE

14.40 Molson Coors Handicap

ANDALEEP has been superb for this stable down the years and this course specialist ran quite well when third at Newmarket last time out. Off a falling mark, with Jim Crowley booked to ride, this nine-year-old is a danger to all in the field. Of the others, the Archie Watson-trained CHATARUNGA should more to come in first-time cheekpieces. He did plenty wrong last time out at Redcar but kept on willingly to finish third and has place claims at least.

Tips: ANDALEEP & CHATARUNGA

15.15 Molson Coors Handicap (Div 2)

APPROVAL gave 6lb and a beating to Brioni at Goodwood last August and should be able to confirm the form on today’s 6lb better terms. He is eased in grade following a down-the-field effort in the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar, while handicap debutant MISS JUSTICE cannot be taken lightly, having improved with each start, and has William Buick in the saddle.

Tips: APPROVAL & MISS JUSTICE

15.50 Tom Jones At Sandown Park 30th July Handicap

TOO DON JUAN has shaped with promise on all four starts to date and wasn’t disgraced when fifth at Chester last time out despite racing wide throughout. He should go well, as should SIR WILLIAM, who remains on the same mark as when posting a very good third at the same course as the former last month.

Tips: TOO DON JUAN & SIR WILLIAM
