Salisbury Place 6 betting preview | 11th August

13.55 – Byerley Stud British EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes – 6f

ZAAKARA looked badly in need of the experience when fifth on debut at Newmarket but still shaped with promise and should improve with more to come. AMERICAN IN PARIS has finished runner-up in two of her three starts and is the biggest danger to the former.

Selections: Zaakara, American In Paris

14.30 – Sorvio Insurance Brokers Novice Stakes – 6f

TIME STEP beat a subsequent winner easily on debut and was unlucky not to defy a penalty at Chelmsford last time when beaten just a short-head. This is more competitive, but he clearly has a lot of ability and should be competitive with a seven-pounds claimer booked to ride.

Selections: Time Step

15.05 – Mildren Construction Wateraid Fillies’ Handicap – 6f

COMMANDMENT is consistent and posted a good third in a competitive Pontefract handicap recently. Off the same mark with William Buick reunited with her, she’s a huge player in this event. WILLOUGHBY BAY drops in grade though and could get involved off her reduced mark.

Selections: Commandment, Willoughby Bay

15.40 – M J Church Handicap – 1m

SLY MADAM is at the top of her game at the moment and has reached the frame the last two times off this mark. She has to be considered in a race lacking strength in depth, while ATLANTIC HEART has also been thereabouts the last twice and is another to consider in this tricky event.

Selections: Sly Madam, Atlantic Heart

16.15 – Tattersalls Sovereign Stakes (Group 3) – 1m

The feature race of the day. MODERN NEWS couldn’t justify favouritism at Pontefract last time but he’s a classy horse, who rarely runs a bad race, and is still the one to beat based upon his form so far this year. He is the highest rated of these and is Charlie Appleby’s only runner on the card, so he’s taken to take this Group Three event.

Selections: Modern News

16.45 – British EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap – 1m4f

SEA ON TIME was narrowly denied on debut but has won both starts since and could easily be arriving here with a perfect record of three-from-three. However, she makes her handicap debut off a fair mark and this daughter of Sea The Stars should go close. DAL MALLART easily beat a subsequent winner last time and is also feared in her hat-trick bid.

Selections:  SEA ON TIME, DAL MALLART
