Royal Ascot Win 6 preview | 20th June

14.30 – Queen Anne Stakes – 1m

INSPIRAL gets plenty of weight from Modern Games and has winning form at Royal Ascot and those two components are huge advantages ahead of this contest. She was below form when last seen but this three-time Group 1 winner has a good chance to avenge that defeat, especially with a great record fresh. NATIVE TRAIL is selected over his stablemate, who should step forward from his reappearance and his third in the Coral-Eclipse is amongst the best form in the field.

Tips: INSPIRAL, NATIVE TRAIL

15.05 – Coventry Stakes – 6f

GIVEMETHEBEATBOYS is fancied to upset the front pair in the betting. Jessica Harrington’s two-year-old is the only runner in the field to have won at Group level and is partnered by Frankie Dettori here. He should have a lot more to come and can make his presence felt. I wouldn’t rule out BOBSLEIGH, who I thought was so impressive in overcoming a poor track position to win going away at Epsom and is clearly very talented. He can run a big race with improvement on the cards.

Tips: GIVEMETHEBEATBOYS, BOBSLEIGH

15.40 – King’s Stand Stakes – 5f

HIGHFIELD PRINCESS can land a fourth Group 1 contest. She is clear of these on ratings and form and will have come on plenty for her excellent return second at York. This isn’t the best of renewals and it is a great chance for her to win at the Royal meeting for a second time. At a bigger price, I will add in EQUILATERAL, who has finished second and fifth in the last two renewals of this contest. He should get a good pace to aim at and will get his conditions too. I can definitely see him running above market expectations.

Tips: HIGHFIELD PRINCESS, EQUILATERAL

16.20 – St James’s Palace Stakes – 7f

A lot of punters have been quick to lay CHALDEAN which seems bizarre, as he is the best horse in the race and won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket impressively. I think this course will bring even further improvement out of him and Frankie has a great record in this race as well. I am optimistic about him having the measure of Paddington. CICERO’S GIFT is three-from-three and while this is a significant step up in grade, he might be equal to the task ahead. His connections are confident of a big run.

Tips: CHALDEAN, CICERO’S GIFT

17.00 – Ascot Stakes – 2m3f

BRING ON THE NIGHT only found Gold Cup favourite Coltrane too good when second in this race last year and has deliberately been kept fresh for the race since. Willie Mullins has a good record in the race and he is just about the one to beat. If for some reason he doesn’t succeed, I wouldn’t put his past URBAN ARTIST running a big race at a big odds. She is a good mare, who ran well at the meeting last year and is more than capable of going well if she stays the distance.

Tips: BRING ON THE NIGHT, URBAN ARTIST

17.35 – Wolferton Stakes – 1m1f

SOLID STONE ran very well on his return behind Hukum and Desert Crown in a Group 3 and has run well at this meeting for the last two years, including when third in this two years ago. He has a better chance than his odds suggest but BOLSHOI BALLET is a Group 1 winner and went close at Newbury last-time-out. He has lots in his favour and might be hard to beat down in grade.

Tips: SOLID STONE, BOLSHOI BALLET
