Pontefract Place 6 Preview | 2nd June
14.48 Gieves And Hawkes Supports The YCC Maiden Stakes
ALMA LATINA has made a positive start to her career, shaping well behind some promising sorts at Sandown and Salisbury. Her trainer has an excellent record at this course so she is undoubtedly the one to beat. ACCORDING TO MARK is another that has left a good impression following two starts (went close at Redcar last time out) and is the main danger.
Tips: ALMA LATINA & ACCORDING TO MARK
15.18 HBC Construction Ltd Supports The YCC EBF Maiden Stakes
This is a difficult race to access so I’ll stick with a couple at the top of the market. AVIONICS and ROSBERG represent stables that have a fantastic record with youngsters and have the pedigree to be potentially useful. Hopefully one of these can go close to coming out on top.
Tips: AVIONICS & ROSBERG
15.48 GV Co Property Consultants Supports The YCC Handicap
Surely this is the time ROCK OPERA returns to winning ways. He has caught the eye so many times in defeat, including when a running-on fourth at Hamilton when last seen having been outpaced early on. If things can finally fall right for him, then I have no doubt he is capable of winning a race of this nature. I’m confident he will be finishing with a flourish, which is hopefully enough to succeed.
Tips: ROCK OPERA
16.18 Lycetts Supports The YCC Fillies’ Handicap
EGOTISTICAL has improved with each start and opened her account at the fourth time of asking when a comfortable winner at Redcar last time out. She could prove hard to beat, though SAUCY JANE ran well on her debut here last year and should be winning soon, even though she was disappointing at Beverley three weeks ago.
Tips: EGOTISTICAL & SAUCY JANE
16.48 KRS Property Solutions Supports The YCC Handicap
DISTINCTION won three times last year and has a good record at this venue. His latest third at Pontefract suggests his turn might be again near and is only a pound higher than when successful over C&D last June. POL ROGER is down to a career-low mark and placed multiple times last year off higher figures. Given he’s so well-treated at present, the six-year-old must have outstanding claims with plenty in his favour.
Tips: DISTINCTION & POL ROGER
17.18 Morley Glass And Glazing Supports The YCC Handicap
LIVERPOOL STAR let his supporters down when only fourth last time out but did stay on strongly from an unpromising position and first-time cheekpieces could bring about improvement. I do like the claims of DOLOS DREAM. She’s likely to be ridden positively and has shaped well on all three starts to date. An opening mark of 73 might be within her grasp under Jason Hart.
Tips: LIVERPOOL STAR & DOLOS DREAM
