Newbury Place 6 Preview | 1st June

14.15 Get 100-1 On England At BetVictor EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

BAI TONG improved from her debut fifth to finish second when last seen and must have a squeak with the experience under her belt. ENHANCING is an interesting newcomer for a stable that is having a good season, while fellow newcomer PLEASE DON’T GO is another that could have a part to play in the finish.

Tips: BAI TONG, ENHANCING & PLEASE DON’T GO

14.50 BetVictor Backing England To Win Handicap

The one I like the look of is GREEN TRIANGLE, the mount of Jamie Spencer. He’s dropped into this grade for the first time in his career and was last seen running fairly well over C&D in a much stronger event. He looks nicely handicapped off a mark of 88 and is one to consider with his sights lowered.

Tips: GREEN TRIANGLE

15.25 Favourite Things Boosted Daily At BetVictor Maiden Stakes

SEA COOKIE looks a key player on his seasonal reappearance. He finished second on both starts last year, including here on his debut, and has undergone wind surgery since last seen. I think he’s in with a shout with plenty more to come this season.

Tips: SEA COOKIE

16.00 Pump Technology Jonathan And Natalie Handicap

FAUSTUS ran below par last time out but he’s down to a career-low mark of 60 and his last two wins have came over track and trip off figures of 68 and 75. I think he’s got a serious chance off a handy weight with his rider taking off an additional 5lb. SPRING BLOOM only found one too good last time out and is another to note.

Tips: FAUSTUS & SPRING BLOOM

16.35 South Downs Water Handicap

CALVERT often seems to be thereabouts and was last seen finishing a good third at Ascot. He is still in search of a first handicap win but he’s placed several times off higher marks and could make an impact, likewise NOW THE EAGLE off a low weight. He has a win and two seconds from his last three outings.

Tips: CALVERT

17.10 West Courth Retreat Supports Heros Charity Handicap

TWISTING PHYSICS won a stronger race here last June and has shaped nicely on both starts this season (5th of 12 at Newmarket and (6th of 14) over C&D on his return. Off a slightly reduced mark, with Jamie Spencer retained, I can see him being competitive.

Tips: TWISTING PHYSICS
