Newton Abbot Place 6 preview | 7th June
13.50 – Racing Partnership Novices’ Hurdle
I’ll side with SYLVIES DANCE in the opener, who’s second at Chepstow looks a strong piece of form for this grade. She proved no match for the winner but travelled well through the race and should be able to build on that display in this contest. Basford will be hard to beat if in similar form to last time but the former gets the vote capitalise on the weight she receives.
Tips: SYLVIES DANCE
14.25 – Andy Blight And His Amigos Handicap Hurdle
DANCILA achieved a rating as high as 90 on the Flat and has taken well to hurdles, winning on hurdles debut before two placed efforts. He has to give bags of weight to these but he should make a bold bid. ALIOMAANA has won after a break before and is only 3Ib higher than when winning comfortably two starts ago. He could be tough to keep out of the frame at this venue.
Tips: DANCILA, ALIOMAANA
15.00 – Newton Abbot Racecourse On Facebook Handicap Chase
Milton Harris is banging in the winners recently and HURRICANE VICHI, who was second off this mark in January, could go really well on chase debut with Harry Cobden in the saddle. Two-time course winner SHORTCROSS STORM resumed winning ways over C&D three weeks ago and has a good chance to follow-up from only a 3Ib higher mark.
Tips: HURRICANE VICHI, SHORTCROSS STORM
15.35 – Talk Tidy Marketing Handicap Hurdle
FREE CHAKARTE displayed a rapid decline in form after last July and hasn’t been much better in both starts this year but surely a mark of 87 underplays her ability and this could be the time she bounces back to form. ENERGY TWO has placed in both starts over hurdles and drops in grade ahead of her handicap debut. She will surely go well off this basement mark.
Tips: FREE CHAKARTE, ENERGY TWO
16.10 – newtonabbotracing.com Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
DANCINGONTHEEDGE is well clear of this field on ratings and has been unlucky not to win two of her last three starts, given she’s been beaten a neck in each of those. From only a pound higher mark then last time, she should be going one better. SAXON QUEEN came within three quarters of a length of success last time and should be competitive with more to come.
Tips: DANCINGONTHEEDGE, SAXON QUEEN
16.45 – Visit attheraces.com Novices’ Handicap Chase
CHIEF BLACK ROBE has taken his form to a whole new level over fences, winning both starts, and was most impressive in winning by 17 lengths over C&D last time. He has a great chance to make it three wins on the spin but BALKO SAINT has finished second in his last three starts in this sphere and has the ability to serve it up to the favourite from this mark.
Tips: CHIEF BLACK ROBE, BALKO SAINT
