Newton Abbot Place 6 preview | 22nd August

14.30 – newtonabbotracing.com Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 2m

VALENTINO DANCER has course-winning form at this course and hit the crossbar on his chase debut at Southwell. The winner is unbeaten over fences, so he lost nothing in defeat, and has strong claims off the same mark. STEPNEY CAUSEWAY wasn’t beaten far last time and could go well, as could DR J T ECKLEBURG who is a lot better than what he has shown so far in this sphere.

Tips: VALENTINO DANCER, STEPNEY CAUSEWAY, DR J T ECKLEBURG

15.00 – Joe And Sophie Finally Got Married Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m

RYDER’S ROCK is the only pick in the second race who has finished runner-up in a pair of events in recent months at this course and will make her handicap debut from a nice-looking mark. She is unexposed compared to a lot of these and this is a drop in class compared to her previous hurdle efforts. She should be competitive.

Tips: RYDER’S ROCK

15.30 – Heather And Jenny Joint Birthdays Celebration Maiden Hurdle – 2m2f

THE GEORDIE GINGE has been unlucky not to have a couple of wins in this sphere already as twice he has fluffed the last hurdle when looking the most likeliest winner including last time at Stratford. All he needs to do is brush up his jumping under pressure and this race should be his for the taking with more to offer.

Tips: THE GEORDIE GINGE

16.00 – Andy Hobbs Memorial Handicap Chase – 2m

It could be a quick-fire double for the Twiston-Davies team with BAGHEERA GINGE who has improved with each start over fences and has placed in his last couple of outings. He surely has more to come, while GLAJOU ran well when second over C&D last time and is better off at the weights with Dan’s Chosen who beat him, so he could reverse the form.

Tips: BAGHEERA GINGE, GLAJOU

16.30 – Talk Tidy Marketing Handicap Hurdle – 2m

LADY ADARE won her first four starts and although she ran poorly when last seen at Cheltenham, this is easier and she still retains potential. She has undergone wind surgery since last time and should go well. ENTHUSED has hit the frame in her last three starts since winning at Huntingdon and has to be feared.

Tips: LADY ADARE, ENTHUSED

17.00 – William Hill Leading Racecourse Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle – 3m2f

The last time RATFACEMCDOUGALL ran in this grade he was second off this mark. He hasn’t been at his best of late but is well-handicapped and should be competitive in this field. I’ll cover with FORTUNATE FRED finds it hard to win but is surely going to win at some point off this sort of mark. He can go well too.

Tips: RATFACEMCDOUGALL, FORTUNATE FRED
