Newbury Place 6 preview | 30th December

12.05 – Play Coral ‘Racing-Super-Series’ For Free Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

GREYVAL won twice last season, including a listed event, and shaped nicely on her handicap debut at Ascot when last spotted. With that run under her belt, she’s a massive player in this easier race. MUCUNA hasn’t been seen for a while, but she’s won four of her five starts over hurdles and could be set to run well.

Tips: GREYVAL, MUCUNA

12.40 – Coral Committed To Safer Gambling ‘Introductory’ Hurdle

JERIKO DU REPONET returned a very easy winner over C&D earlier this month and should be hard to beat with more to come. SECRET SQUIRREL made it three-from-three under rules when winning his hurdles debut last month and can be recognised as the main danger to the favourite.

Tips: JERIKO DU REPONET, SECRET SQUIRREL

13.15 – New ‘Bet-In-Race’ With Coral Handicap Chase

MARTATOR made the frame at the highest level when formerly trained in France and ran well when second over C&D last time out. He should be difficult to beat, while THE RUSSIAN DOYEN has winning form over C&D and will be a lot fitter from his comeback run. He is the backup option.

Tips: MARTATOR, THE RUSSIAN DOYEN

13.50 – Coral Racing Club Join For Free Handicap Hurdle

GET A TONIC was electric from the front when scoring over C&D last month. She has been hit with an 8Ib rise, but a similar showing should see her prove hard to beat. STEAL A MARCH went close here on his penultimate start and has won two of his last three starts. He could be ready to run well on his return.

Tips: GET A TONIC, STEAL A MARCH

14.25 – Coral Mandarin Handicap Chase

BOWTOGREATNESS was marginally denied on his reappearance last season and concluded last term with a good second at Aintree. He must be feared dropped in grade, while SHANTY ALLEY was second in this race last year from a 5Ib higher mark and should, at the very least, be thereabouts.

Tips: BOWTOGREATNESS, SHANTY ALLEY

15.00 – Coral Challow Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1)

JOHNNYWHO has looked like a smart prospect in both starts under rules, winning a bumper at Taunton prior to making a successful hurdles debut at Carlisle. He is up in grade but could be up to the task ahead. WILLMOUNT is also unbeaten under rules and is equally an exciting youngster. He is another who is respected at this higher level.

Tips: JOHNNYWHO, WILLMOUNT
