Ludlow Place 6 preview | 6th January

13.00 – Ludlow Race Club Annual Membership Junior ‘National Hunt’ Hurdle – 1m7f

SPIRIT D’AUNOU was marginally denied on his hurdles debut but made no mistake in going one better when scoring by a couple of lengths next time. He should have plenty more to come and has room in the jumping department as well. He should therefore finish in the frame at the least in the opener.

Selections: SPIRIT D’AUNOU

13.30 – Luke Watson Memorial ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m5f

Nicky Henderson’s IMPOSE TOI looks a promising youngster, who won both starts in France and has been found a good opportunity to make a winning start for seven barrows here. I fear EGBERT though, who has shown promise in all four starts and should be suited to the extra furlong than when fourth at Newbury when last spotted. He has solid claims of at least making the frame here.

Selections: IMPOSE TOI, EGBERT

14.00 – Simply Delicious Cakes Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f

DOM OF MARY looked set to finish a respectable second on his chase debut but for falling at the second last and should do better if that fall hasn’t left a mark. He is capable of going close in this race, though COTTON END won five times over hurdles and should fare better than he did on his chase debut. He isn’t out if this at a big price.

Selections: DOM OF MARY, COTTON END

14.30 – Vobe Electrics Juvenile Hurdle – 1m7f

RING OF BEARA was decent on the Flat, rated as high as 92, and made a good start to his hurdles career when second at Newcastle in November. He should improve on that display and might go one better, while ADMIRALTY HOUSE won on his hurdles debut and while he could only finish second next time, he retains potential and should go close if he can settle better.

Selections: RING OF BEARA, ADMIRALTY HOUSE

15.00 – Plyvine Caterers Handicap Chase – 3m1f

REE OKKA won two of his four starts over hurdles and has ran well twice in defeat since being sent chasing by Harry Fry. He did well to finish where he did under the circumstances last time when hampered and not jumping as well as he can. The return to this longer trip will suit better and he is fancied to get back on track off a mark that is surely exploitable.

Selections: REE OKKA

15:30 – Racing UK Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

JATILUWIH ran a good race when fourth on his return at Cheltenham last time and this course winner, who is back on his last winning mark, has solid place possibilities here. MY BOBBY DAZZLER turned in a rare poor display at Aintree when last spotted but is well-treated ahead of his return and should go well.

Selections: JATILUWIH, MY BOBBY DAZZLER
