Lingfield Place 6 preview | 31st January

13.15 – At The Races App Market Movers Beginners’ Chase – 2m

GOSHEN is by far the best of these when at his best and although he was disappointing on his chase debut at Ascot, he put that effort aside when scoring in a Grade 2 here back over hurdles next time and chased home Paisley Park in a Grade 1 last time. If he can run to his best, he should be too good for these, though CRISTOPHER WOOD ran well last time and could give the favourite most to think about.

Selections: GOSHEN, CRISTOPHER WOOD

13.50 – Download The At The Races App Maiden Hurdle – 2m

TEDDY BLUE has yet to fulfil his maximum potential over hurdles but he has some excellent efforts to his name and his second in the Adonis to Knight Salute is the best form on offer. He could only manage third last time but this race is a lot easier and Gary Moore has been amongst the winners of late. He sets a clear standard and should prove to be in a different league to these if he can learn to settle better.

Selections: TEDDY BLUE

14.25 – At The Races App Form Study Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m3f

Nicky Henderson’s SPRING NOTE couldn’t land the odds when sent hurdling when runner-up at Southwell in December but it was still an encouraging start regardless and this is a fine chance for him to put that experience to good use and open his account. SPACE VOYAGE ran a tidy race on his hurdles debut at Newbury and although the winner has let the form down since, Olly Murphy’s charge should have more to come and is a leading contender.

Selections: SPRING NOTE, SPACE VOYAGE

15.00 – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase – 2m4f

The Dan Skelton-trained SHOLOKJACK didn’t get very far when he fell on his return/chase debut but he won his first two starts over hurdles and has the potential to be better than this mark, so is worth another chance. Gary Moore’s HUDSON DE GRUGY jumped poorly on his chase debut but he’s another who looks well-treated based on his hurdles win here in a class 2 and could go well for his in-form stable.

Selections: SHOLOKJACK, HUDSON DE GRUGY

15.35 – At The Races App Expert Tips Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

A lot of these have questions to answer but KENNY GEORGE is proving consistent of late and was a good second last time when only touched off by a neck. The winner has won again since to advertise the form, so a repeat of that performance might see him go one better here. TINY TANTRUM has some decent form to her name and the handicapper has given her a good chance off this mark in this grade. She should be thereabouts if able to run to her best.

Selections: KENNY GEORGE, TINY TANTRUM

16.10 – Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

WILLIAM PHILO ran a good race back over hurdles last time when second and didn’t go down without a fight that day either. He remains open to improvement and has to be considered a major player in this race. SPIKE JONES looks best of the rest, who has won two of his last four starts and beat a 114-rated horse last time. He faces easier opponents here, so he should be firmly in the mix again.

Selections: WILLIAM PHILO, SPIKE JONES
