12.15 Celebrating Venetias 30 Years In Training Novices’ Hurdle

Having shaped with promise when fourth on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter, MARSIAC comfortably got off the mark when beating Big Ticket at Aintree. The runner-up has boosted the form with a big run at Ascot since, so with more to offer, the selection is fancied to go in again at the expense of Montemares.

12.50 2009 Grand National Winner Mon Mome Novices’ Hurdle 

LIAM MERA KAI won on bumper debut in March and ran a solid race on hurdles debut after seven months off when third at Huntingdon. With that run under his belt, and more to come, Warren Greatrex’s charge must have every chance of making it two wins from three starts.

13.25 Lady Rebecca Novices’ Handicap Chase

This is a really poor event, so the vote goes to CHESTNUT PETE. The 10-year-old is only 2lb above his last winning mark and wasn’t disgraced when fourth here last time out. He could be thereabouts, while recent Ludlow winner L’EMPIRE VERT is another to note.

This race looks wide-open and I’ll take a chance on OUR DYLAN. This course winner got back to winning ways at Wincanton five days ago and is eligible to compete off the same mark. If the nine-year-old is in similar form, then he must surely go close in his follow-up bid under Callum Pritchard.

14.35 Teeton Mill Handicap Chase

CONCETTO has placed on three of his last four outings and looked unfortunate to be collared late on at Ludlow when last seen. Harry Cobden is an eye-catching jockey booking, so off the same mark, this could be the time the eight-year-old puts matters right.

15.10 Aramstone Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

GRANNY HAWKINS remains a maiden but she is largely consistent and posted another good effort in defeat when second at Uttoxeter back in July. She returns with her trainer in good form, so there’s a fair opportunity for her to take this moderate-looking contest.
