Hereford Place 6 Preview | 22nd April
17.10 Cheltenham And Three Counties Racing Club Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle
MR ZEE made it thirteenth time lucky in this sphere last time out at Taunton and must be considered off only a 4lb higher mark. At a bigger price, POOLEY’S PROMISE wasn’t discredited on her handicap debut last time out and could outrun her odds.
Tips: MR ZEE & POOLEY’S PROMISE
17.43 Silvershine Turf Services Maiden Hurdle
DOCTOR LOVE has progressed with each start and his penultimate third has been boosted by the first and second, who are very smart horses, particularly the winner, Meetmebythesea. GOD OF FIRE should improve from his hurdles debut runner-up effort at Plumpton and is the next choice.
Tips: DOCTOR LOVE & GOD OF FIRE
18.13 R&A Mason Heating & Electrical Novices’ Handicap Chase
ATLANTA BRAVE has winning form at this course, and is lurking on a dangerous mark, so he could go well having undergone wind surgery since last seen. Last-time-out winner A DEFINITE GETAWAY is a key player, especially if he’s allowed a soft lead.
Tips: ATLANTA BRAVE & A DEFINITE GETAWAY
18.43 Visit Herefordshire Handicap Chase
CHESTNUT PETE thumped two subsequent scorers when returning as a wide-margin winner here last time out, and although that came two miles, the longer trip today shouldn’t pose an issue. He is fancied to give the favourite plenty of problems. RUSSIAN RULER is quirky but he’s well handicapped on past form and could run well.
Tips: CHESTNUT PETE & RUSSIAN RULER
19.13 Happy Birthday Malcolm & Danielle Handicap Hurdle
PLANTAROMA has finished runner-up so many times now and probably would have won on her penultimate outing without falling at the third last when going really well. She got back on track with a solid second to a thriving sort last time out and must have every chance. TAPLEY should appreciate the ease in grade and is a pound below his last winning mark, so he’s another to consider.
Tips: PLANTAROMA & TAPLEY
19.43 Spa Motors Hereford Open Maiden NH Flat Race
Race To Base has looked a bit one paced in both starts, so I’ll take him on with debutant NO PANIC, who represents a stable that can ready one. I’ll also highlight OUR BOBBY DAZZLER, who should take a step forward from his debut effort at Warwick. He is Charlie Deutsch’s only ride on the card.
Tips: NO PANIC & OUR BOBBY DAZZLER
