Hereford Place 6 preview | 21st December

12.15 – Cazoo Novices’ Hurdle – 2m

IDEALDES VILLERETS bumped into a useful one on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter last month and had shaped well in two previous bumper starts, including when fourth at Cheltenham in a warm race. He should have a lot more to come and could take some beating in the opener here.

Selections: IDEALDES VILLERETS

12.45 – Hereford Motor Group Maiden Hurdle – 2m3f

The Dan Skelton-trained HEEZER GEEZER won his sole bumper start and has made a promising start to his hurdles career, finishing runner-up both times. He did little wrong behind an exciting prospect last time at Newbury and, with no opponent of that calibre in this race, he might be capable of opening his account in this race.

Selections: HEEZER GEEZER

13.15 – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase – 2m4f

EMIR SACREE produced a career-best performance when signing off last season with a decisive victory at Chepstow and while he returns off a 5Ib higher mark, he should go very close to landing this race for Nicky Henderson. He looks capable of ranking higher and a recent wind op should do the trick too. I like his chances.

Selections: EMIR SACREE

13.45 – Hereford Racehorse Ownership Club Novices’ Hurdle – 3m1f

MR VANGO showed a good attitude to make a winning hurdles debut at Haydock, where he pestered the eventual runner-up down the home straight before getting his head in front where it mattered. He is open to further progress and could remain unbeaten, while GROVE ROAD won on his hurdles debut at Carlisle and Archie Watson’s charge is feared most in this good race for the grade.

Selections: MR VANGO, GROVE ROAD

14.15 – Jackson Property Mares’ Handicap Chase – 3m1f

CREDO reached a good level of form over hurdles and has looked an even better chaser in two runs to date. She was narrowly denied on her chase debut before easily going one better by 19 lengths at Chepstow last time. She has been hit with a 13Ib rise but that might not be enough to stop her winning this race with more to offer.

Selections: CREDO

14.45 – Cazoo Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f

ROGER RAREBIT was twice runner-up in this sphere last month and was only beaten a couple of lengths in the latest of those. With a similar showing, she might be capable of going one place better. MAD ABOUT SALLY wasn’t disgraced when sixth of 16 last time and could be competitive if able to build on that effort here.

Selections: ROGER RAREBIT, MAD ABOUT SALLY
