Hereford Place 6 preview | 15th February

13.30 – Cazoo Maiden Hurdle – 3m1f

JEAN GENIE has lots of placed efforts to his name and was a “head” second on his last start over hurdles. He wouldn’t need to improve on what he has shown to date to figure, while CALL ME RAFA should improve from his hurdles debut here and has a chance despite being the outsider. JIGGINSTOWN KING and STELLAR STREAM cannot be ruled out either.

Selections: JEAN GENIE, CALL ME RAFA; JIGGINSTOWN KING, STELLAR STREAM

14.00 – Vickers.Bet Fillies’ Juvenile Maiden Hurdle – 2m

NIKHI and Qoya both finished third and fourth respectively on their hurdles debut but preference is for the former, who was seven lengths in front of the latter in that race. The form has a lot of substance given the second has won since and there’s no reason why Peter Bowen’s charge can’t uphold that form here and open his account with more to offer.

Selections: NIKHI

14.30 – Jackson Property Novices’ Handicap Chase – 3m1f

DYNAMITE KENTUCKY is yet to convince over fences but the drop in grade back on better ground could be the ingredients to see him return to form. UNBLINKING looked the most likeliest winner over C&D last time when he unseated his rider four out and could make amends, while JUST GO FOR IT has a good, solid record at this venue and is five pounds lower than when third here two starts ago.

Selections: DYNAMITE KENTUCKY, UNBLINKING, JUST GO FOR IT

15.00 – Hereford Motor Group Handicap Hurdle –  2m3f

CABRAKAN has made a positive start to his hurdles career with a win and two seconds and although he was beaten a long way into second last time, the better ground here will suit much better. He has excellent claims on his handicap debut, though PLEASANT MAN won off a mark of 93 when last seen on the Flat and given he’s gone close the last twice in this sphere, he is a major player.

Selections: CABRAKAN, PLEASANT MAN

15.35 – Cazoo Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f

MASKED MATGIL ran poorly on her hurdles debut but she has ran eye-catching races the last two times, where she has done her best work in the latter stages. This step up in trip on handicap now could be exactly what she needs to be seen to best effect and it would be disappointing if she couldn’t go close.

Selections: MASKED MATGIL

16.10 – Black Mountain Botanicals Handicap Chase – 2m4f

JUDEX LEFOU didn’t match the form of his second at Exeter when only fifth last time but remains on a handy mark and is respected back at this course. ROOSTER COGBURN scored impressively at this course last time, where he jumped well, and a similar effort could see him follow-up under his penalty.

Selections: JUDEX LEFOU, ROOSTER COGBURN
