Hereford Place 6 betting preview | November 23rd

12.50 – Hereford Racehorse Ownership Club Novices’ Hurdle – 2m3f

THEATRE MAN shaped with bundles of promise in making the frame in both bumper starts, including when narrowly denied by Bingoo, who subsequently bolted up on his hurdles debut when last spotted. Richard Bandey’s charge will have learnt a lot in defeat that day and, with no opponent of the winners calibre in this field, David Bass can comfortably guide him to success in the opener.

Selections: THEATRE MAN

13.20 – Cazoo Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

SAMBEZI made the frame twice in the spring in this sphere and while he was very disappointing when last spotted, a break should have done him the world of good and he is taken to bounce back here. WILLIAM EWART ran a very good race when second here two weeks ago and should remain competitive with more to offer.

Selections: SAMBEZI, WILLIAM EWART

13.50 – Central Roofing Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m

EROS has yet to get his head in front but he’s ultra-consistent and he made a really nice return when second here after seven months off three weeks ago. He is threatening to get a win under his belt and given this race lacks any sort of strength in depth, this could be the time to catch the eight-year-old, who deserves some reward for his efforts in defeat this year.

Selections: EROS

14.20 – Hereford Motor Group Novices’ Hurdle – 2m

The Paul Nicholls-trained BEAU BALKO shaped with lots of promise when runner-up on hurdles debut at Chepstow four weeks ago and that form could work out well in due course. With improvement forthcoming and his trainer/jockey’s excellent record at this venue, he should have no trouble in getting off the mark before bigger targets await him later into the campaign.

Selections: BEAU BALKO

14.50 – Cultura Connect Agribusiness Recruitment Specialists’ Handicap Chase – 3m1f

ATAKAN was impressive on his chase debut three weeks ago. He has to shoulder top-weight in this slightly deeper field but the six-year-old has only been hit with a five pounds rise, which seems extremely manageable given he won by ten lengths last time so, under another positive ride, he can score again.

Selections: ATAKAN

15.20 – Jackson Property Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

PHILLAPA SUE is a very consistent mare and having placed in all four bumper starts, she’s made the frame in her last two starts over hurdles. I still think we haven’t seen the best of her yet and she makes her handicap debut off a really lenient mark here. It’ll be a surprise if she couldn’t figure in the outcome of this race.

Selections: PHILLAPA SUE
