Guide to the next £1,000,000 1×2 Pick 15

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Head-to-Head: TOT 47-39-77 LIV

Another international break is gladly behind us and the 1×2 Pick15 returns with a bang as Tottenham host Liverpool at White Hart Lane in a mouth-watering clash. It is Jurgen Klopp’s first game at the Liverpool helm and the German will be buoyed by the Reds recent record against the North Londoners. Liverpool have won the last five meetings with Tottenham in the Premier League and will be confident of continuing such a run with new management at the club. However, Spurs are enjoying a solid run of form at home in recent weeks – including a 4-1 victory over Manchester City – and will be eager to spoil the Jurgen Klopp party.

Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Head-to-Head: CRY 14-17-19 WHU

Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last eight encounters with West Ham, dating back to 2004, and their current form suggests another victory is set for Saturday. Alan Pardew has the Eagles playing with supreme confidence this season with seven victories from 10 games, in all competitions. They sit fourth in the Premier League and possess legitimate claims for a European place next May. West Ham, on the other hand, have been inconsistent but are unbeaten away from home in the league. Victories at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have helped ease the burden of poor home form from the shoulders of manager Slaven Bilic.

Everton vs Manchester United

Head-to-Head: EVE 69-41-82 MUN

Everton’s recent record against Manchester United reads one loss in four games, a statistic many Toffees fans will be excited by. Roberto Martinez’s men have lost just one game in all competitions this season and have taken the scalps of Chelsea and Southampton, respectively. They host a Louis van Gaal side this weekend who recently suffered a thumping defeat to their bitter rivals Arsenal. It could be the best time to capitalise on Manchester United’s recent misfortunes and I expect the Blues to prevail.

Southampton vs Leicester

Head-to-Head: SOT 31-25-24 LEI

This should be a really exciting encounter between two sides with great attacking flair. The Saints are on a run of three consecutive victories, including one at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago. Leicester, likewise, are in similar form with three victories in their last five games in all competitions. The Foxes do concede plenty of goals, however, and Southampton will relish such inconsistencies in Leicester’s back-line. I fancy the Saints to come through a really exciting encounter.

Selection: HOME

West Brom vs Sunderland

Head-to-Head: WBA 53-42-57 SUN

West Brom have enjoyed victory in seven of their last 11 meetings with Sunderland, though their recent form is a cause for concern. Three consecutive defeats in all competitions and no victory at home this season leaves Albion lurking just above the relegation zone – five points ahead of Sunderland. The Black Cats recently acquired the managerial services of Sam Allardyce and will hope that it can help revive their lacklustre campaign. However, I feel that West Brom will have too much for an already deflated Sunderland side.

Selection: HOME

Birmingham vs QPR

Head-to-Head: BIR 21-13-17 QPR

Birmingham are enjoying a solid run of form of late with back-to-back away successes in the league in recent weeks. As a result, they sit in fourth place in the Championship, though have lost their last two games at home. QPR are struggling to get to grips with life in England’s second tier and have looked mediocre in recent displays. They just squeezed past Bolton at home earlier this month following a brutal 4-0 away defeat to Fulham. Birmingham will fancy their chances against the West London side who are performing with no consistency.

Selection: HOME

Leeds vs Brighton

Head-to-Head: LEE 17-11-13 BRI

Leeds have lost their last four games in the Championship and, as a result, are beginning to slip down the league positions. Brighton, on the other hand, sit atop of the table with 22 points from 10 games and are yet to taste defeat. Their confidence is at its peak which will make them very difficult to break down. Away form is something they possess and the Seagulls are the rightful favourites. Leeds have the potential to make life troublesome for Brighton but the away sides current record should see them come through.

Selection: AWAY

MK Dons vs Blackburn

Head-to-Head: MKD 4-8-11 BLA

The Dons’ recent home record is a real cause for concern. In their last four home encounters, in all competitions, MK Dons have failed to register a single victory. It leaves them hovering one point above the Championship relegation zone and heading towards a potential survival battle next May. Blackburn are unbeaten in their last four games though are winless on the road this season. Play it safe and back the draw here.

Watford vs Arsenal

Head-to-Head: WAT 9-1-11 ARS

There’s little doubt that Watford have started their campaign back in the Premier League with real consistency. They sit in 12th place with a solid 10 points from their opening eight games. Their home form could be improved upon, however. In their four meetings at Vicarage Road, Watford have mustered just one goal. It is a statistic that will come as great news to Arsenal who arrive still on a high following their 3-0 success over Manchester United. The Gunners looked world class on that day and will be hard to break down with such momentum behind them.

Selection: AWAY

Villarreal vs Celta Vigo

This could develop in to a really exciting encounter as both sides are in tremendous form. Villarreal sit atop of La Liga with five victories from their opening seven league games and with a 100% record at home. Celta Vigo, likewise, are unbeaten this season and are flying with confidence though may struggle to overcome their opposition on their own turf.

Selection: HOME

Derby vs Wolves

Head-to-Head: DER 62-33-52 WOL

Derby have certainly returned to form after enduring a slow start to their season. They have won four of their last five league games and have jumped to 7th in the Championship as a result. They host a Wolves side this weekend who are also in good form themselves. The Wanderers are unbeaten in their last three and are just two points behind their hosts. Based on Derby’s home form, I see them coming through a closely fought meeting.

Selection: HOME & DRAW

Real Sociedad vs Atletico Madrid

Real Sociedad have just the one league victory to their name this campaign and tackle an Atletico Madrid team on Sunday who have won four of their first seven league games. Diego Simone’s men have conceded just the one goal away from home this season – winning three of those four games on the road – and should take all the beating if in similar form.

Selection: AWAY

Newcastle vs Norwich

Head-to-Head: NEW 22-15-15 NOR

Norwich are winless in their last five encounters with Newcastle, though arrive in good form with just the one away defeat in the league this season – from four games. Newcastle have yet to win a game this campaign and are sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League with just the three points to their name. Manager Steve McClaren is beginning to feel the wrath of the Magpies faithful as his odds shorten on being the next manager to leave their post. I see the Canaries taking full advantage of Newcastle’s lack of team moral by departing St James’ Park with at least a point.

Selection: DRAW & AWAY

Inter Milan vs Juventus

Inter Milan had a fantastic start to their season with four victories from four games, though their last two encounters have produced a mediocre draw and luckless defeat. They host Juventus in a highly-anticipated clash on Sunday and will be confident of overcoming the Italian champions at the famous San Siro stadium. Juventus have been incredibly inconsistent this campaign and have won just two of their first seven games in the league. It could be the perfect opportunity for Inter Milan to face the Serie A champions as they lack both star-power and confidence.

Selection: HOME & DRAW

Swansea vs Stoke

Head-to-Head: SWA 21-20-23 STO

Swansea’s form at the Liberty Stadium this season has been near faultless with two victories and two draws from their four home league games. However, they are without a win since August which is a concern for Swansea fans. Stoke are enjoying a spell of three consecutive victories in all competitions and have performed with real credit away from home this season including a 0-1 win over Aston Villa last time out. Don’t be surprised to see this develop in to a closely-fought draw.
