Goodwood Place 6 preview | 6th May

13.20 – William Hill Extra Places Every Day Handicap – 7f

PHYSIQUE was marginally denied on debut at Newbury before going one place better at Newmarket next time. He was down the field at Chelmsford last month but will be fitter from that return and should go well. QUANTUM IMPACT has won his last two starts and is progressing all the time, so he has to merit consideration as well.

Selections: PHYSIQUE, QUANTUM IMPACT

13.55 – William Hill Conqueror Fillies’ Stakes – 1m

The top two in the betting should have this race between themselves but it’s ZELLIE who gets the vote. She was a Group 1 winner in France and was fourth in last year’s 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. She has joined a powerful team and this track should play to her strengths, so she gets the vote to make a successful stable debut before a big campaign awaits her.

Selections: ZELLIE

14.30 – British Racings School 40th Anniversary Restricted Maiden Stakes – 1m

MILTEYE couldn’t sustain the late charge from Little Helen at Bath when only second but he did make a promising start to his career when second at Newmarket on debut and retains potential. Jack Channon’s charge should have plenty more to come and gets the vote to potentially take the scalp of Bishop’s Crown.

Selections: MILTEYE

15.05 – William Hill Epic Value Handicap – 1m1f

This race can go to HONITON, as the form of his placed efforts behind Eldar Eldarov, Secret State and My Prospero is the best on display, given all the winners are group performers at least now and he should surpass this mark. He ran poorly when last seen but has been freshened up since and with his stable amongst the winners, he should take some beating.

Selections: HONITON

15.45 – Dementia Support Charity Handicap – 2m

MOTAZZEN only one too good for his new yard in first-time cheekpieces at Kempton in November and ran a good race when third here yesterday. He might be declared a non-runner but if that’s the case, the tip will go onto the favourite. Either way, I think we have a good chance of getting through this race, while TUDDENHAM GREEN posted a solid effort back in the Flat last time and should be thereabouts.

Selections: MOTAZZEN, TUDDENHAM GREEN

16.20 – William Hill Keep Your Raceday Positive Handicap – 5f

KUWAIT CITY has plenty of speed to burn and having won a soft-ground Yarmouth novice event, he was highly tried in the Windsor Castle Stakes. He didn’t disgrace himself, finishing 10th of 28 and will make his handicap debut from a fair mark of 81 on his seasonal return. Hollie Doyle rides and John Butler’s charge could be ready to make an impact.

Selections: KUWAIT CITY
