Four handicappers to consider at the Derby Meeting
She’s Got A Brother (3yo Dash)
SHE’S GOT A BROTHER won her first couple of starts on the all-weather and ran a massive race on turf debut when fourth of 17 in a big-field handicap at York.
She acquitted herself very well considering she lacked experience for a race like that and is bound to have more to come. Off the same mark, I’m hopeful she will be able to have a say in the outcome.
Hand Of God (Nifty 50 Handicap)
The Harry Charlton-trained HAND OF GOD was a very good winner at Newbury last time out and must be considered a major player. He has only been raised 5lb for winning that race with so much in hand.
The fact he overcame a troubled passage under his big weight to pull clear at the finish and he looks tailor-made for a race of this nature. I think he’s got a fantastic chance with plenty more to come.
Mr Swivell (HKJC World Pool Handicap)
MR SWIVELL is an interesting possible runner. I know he’s been below form the last two times but his second at Ascot back in September is strong form and he’s back on that same mark.
It is also worth noting that he has a really good record over a mile, with figures reading 4210130211212. I think he’s threatening to win a valuable pot and perhaps this will be it if he runs.
Tattersall (Dash Handicap)
TATTERSALL won over C&D back in 2023 (similar event) and warmed up for this with a good third at Thirsk last time out.
He’s a very smart sprinter on his day and horses that have good experience of this track often come back and do well.
The six-year-old looks like he has been trained for this event and has plenty in his favour, so it’ll be no surprise to see him make an impact if given the green light.
