CALL ME LEGEND should have more to come stepping up in trip after a third-placed effort in a stronger event last time out. Meanwhile, PIPERS CROSS posted a solid effort when third in this race last year off a 2lb lower mark and should be in contention if in similar form.
Tips: CALL ME LEGEND & PIPERS CROSS

POURQUOI PAS PAPA is undoubtedly the one to beat. He’s finished second on both starts, including on stable/UK debut at Sandown and this is by far a much easier assignment. With plenty of improvement to come, Harry Cobden can guide him to success at the expense of Johnny’s Jury.
Tips: POURQUOI PAS PAPA

Lots to consider it this tricky event, but the marginal vote goes to SILVER THORN. He did well over hurdles last season and improved significantly from his chase debut at Lingfield to score at Doncaster. He was left clear late on but would have won regardless of the other horse’s departure and can follow up under Ben Jones.
Tips: SILVER THORN

FLASH GORCOMBE likes this venue and can find himself 2lb lower than when he won by 16 lengths over C&D last January. With no weight on his back, and two decent runs under his belt this season, I think the eight-year-old has leading claims. As a backup, I’ll put forward the grade-dropping INTO THE PARK.
Tips: FLASH GORCOMBE

I quite like the chances of STORMING NELSON, who represents a stable that does well at this course. He’s displayed a lot more since a wind op and ran really well when third at Fontwell last month. This isn’t a hot race, so he’s one to consider, along with ROBBER’S BRIDGE.
Tips: STORMING NELSON & ROBBER’S BRIDGE

HAAS BOY won when last seen in this sphere and has been in good form over hurdles of late, finishing second on both starts. This C&D winner has to be high on the shortlist with Harry Cobden booked to ride. BONZA BOY knows his way around here too, so he’s one to note, while top weight RISK DE PLUIE should be in the mix.
Tips: BONZA BOY, HAAS BY & RISK DE PLUIE
