Exeter Place 6 preview | 31st January

13.40 – Exeter Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle

TINTINTIN returned a decent winner at Lingfield when last spotted and has a solid chance of winning this weaker race. ROYAL JEWEL won on his penultimate start and ran well under a penalty when he finished second last time out. He should be competitive.

Tips: TINTINTIN, ROYAL JEWEL

14.10 – General Gilbert Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

Hurdles winner HURRICANE HIGHWAY looked extremely unlucky not to make a winning chase debut at Chepstow, where he was going to win easily until he came to a standstill after a bad mistake at the fourth last fence. He rallied impressively to be nearest the finish and can make amends under the assistance of Harry Cobden this time around.

Tips: HURRICANE HIGHWAY

14.45 – Herring Mares’ Maiden Hurdle

LADY D’ARBANVILLE made an impressive winning return from 19 months off in a Plumpton bumper in December, and she is handed the main vote to make a successful hurdles debut with a lot more to come. Paul Nicholls’ FLORENCETHEMACHINE was still in contention until a bad mistake at the second last hurdle at Ludlow and should be thereabouts.

Tips: LADY D’ARBANVILLE, FLORENCETHEMACHINE

15.15 – Herring Mares’ Maiden Hurdle

Nicky Henderson’s EASY PEASY won her first couple of starts, including on stable debut at Plumpton, and although she was down the field at Cheltenham next time, this is easier. She might be able to get the better of the experienced DOLLY DELIGHTFUL who has done little wrong in two starts over hurdles and is the main threat.

Tips: EASY PEASY, DOLLY DELIGHTFUL

15.45 – Kennford Maiden Hurdle

IDEAL DES BORDES has shaped very nicely in making the frame behind some useful prospects in each of his three starts and should be difficult to beat. CARRIGMOORNA ROWAN ran well for a long way when he finished sixth in a Grade 2 race at Cheltenham last time out, and he is sure to find this a lot easier.

Tips: IDEAL DES BORDES, CARRIGMOORNA ROWAN

16.15 – Plymouth Handicap Chase

FLASH GORCOMBE routed his rivals when successful at Wincanton recently and has an excellent chance to follow up, despite an 8Ib rise. MOYTIER was going well before his departure in that same race last time and could run a big race if that hasn’t knocked his confidence.

Tips: FLASH GORCOMBE, MOYTIER
