Chepstow Place 6 preview | 30th January

13.00 – Tom Jones Live In July Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle

OUT OF FOCUS has run very well to make the frame in both handicap starts and caught the eye in a deeper race here in October. The assessor has left him on the same mark as last time, and he is the one they all have to beat.

Tips: OUT OF FOCUS

13.35 – Hozier Live In July Junior ‘National Hunt’ Hurdle

This race can go the way of CASTELFORT who shaped with plenty of promise when second to the subsequent Grade 2-placed Balboa before going one place better at Sandown. He is open to a lot more improvement and should be able to get the better of Hill Spirit.

Tips: CASTELFORT

14.10 – Chepstow Summer Sessions Handicap Chase

STELLAR STREAM was well beaten last time out, but a repeat of his penultimate second would give him strong place claims at least. HASTON CLERMONT beat him in that penultimate race and could complete the hat-trick after following up at Wincanton when last spotted. BRING THE ACTION will relish conditions and is another to consider.

Tips: STELLAR STREAM, HASTON CLERMONT, BRING THE ACTION

14.45 – Cuffe And Taylor Handicap Hurdle

CURRENT MOOD is a three-time hurdle winner, including a win here, and despite not being seen for a long time, she should be heavily involved with a really lenient mark. HEROS DE ROMAY has two wins from four starts, and the form of his hurdles debut win has worked out well. He should go well on his handicap debut.

Tips: CURRENT MOOD, HEROS DE ROMAY

15.20 – Live Music In Summer 2024 Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

AUTHORISED SPEED didn’t jump as well as he could when he was only third at Plumpton, but we know he is better than that. He would have won a stronger race than this on his chase debut at Ascot without falling at the second last fence and is strongly fancied to make amends back over a suitable distance.

Tips: AUTHORISED SPEED

15.55 – Concerts In July At Chepstow Racecourse Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

FOLLOWANGO shaped quite well when third on her hurdles debut over C&D last month after winning her debut bumper by 19 lengths on testing ground and should be competitive. I’ll cover JANWORTH, who returns with her stable in great form and could develop into a nice hurdler.

Tips: FOLLOWANGO, JANWORTH
