I’m really liking the claims of HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA. She’s won five of her eight starts and this Grade 2 hurdles winner shaped promisingly when third on chase debut at Carlisle behind two very good horses. She’s sure to improve from that experience, and with conditions in her favour, she can capitalise on the weight she receives to open her account in this sphere.

Not much to go on here. However, WAY OF STARS represents a stable that does well with youngsters, so he could go well. LORD BYRON is interesting under Harry Cobden and could be anything. I’ll cover the race with these two.

Although he finished a distant third last time out at Cheltenham, I thought ISAAC DES OBEAUX did well to last as long as he did (travelled well for most of it) considering he disputed a good pace. Dropped in class, off the same mark, Paul Nicholls’ top-weight can register a first win over fences under Cobden.

RIVER RUN FREE returned as a beaten favourite last time out but stayed on well late on to suggest he’s capable off this mark if he keeps his eye on the task in hand. This is a poor event, so he’s surely going to prove tough to beat.

BEGIN THE LUCK has been running consistently all year and must have a chance of collecting this event. He’s 3lb below his last winning mark and has C&D winning form, too. The nine-year-old has made the frame on his last three starts and can round off the year with success.
