Chester Place 6 Preview | 7th May
13.30 CAA Stellar Handicap
RUBY’S PROFIT has a very good draw to attack from the gate. She’s seen to best effect under positive tactics and can find herself back on her last winning mark. She went very close at this meeting last year and has every chance of going one better with a repeat showing given she will be at peak-fitness following two runs this season.
Tips: RUBY’S PROFIT
14.05 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes
DONEGAL ROSE shaped with distinct promise when fifth on debut at Leicester despite suffering interference and is expected to step forward from that experience. I can see her making the frame being the choice of Oisin Murphy.
Tips: DONEGAL ROSE
14.35 Boodles Raindance Dee Stakes (Listed)
CONSTITUTION RIVER had improved with each start last season and concluded his campaign with a convincing Group 2 win. The step up in trip could see him in an even better light and he has his sights lowered for this return, so he might be able to see off Morshdi.
Tips: CONSTITUTION RIVER
15.05 Ladbrokes Ormonde Stakes (Group 3)
JAN BRUEGHEL is without a doubt the class act in the field and remains the last horse to have beaten Calandagan, which is top, top-class form. He will improve for the run but it’s hard to see him not finishing in first two, so he could easily provide Aidan O’Brien with a seventh winner in this event.
Tips: JAN BRUEGHEL
15.40 Xenon Workplace Handicap
COMMAND THE STARS is sure to appreciate the drop in grade and this Listed winner could be well handicapped off a mark of 94. With that latest run under his belt, and in the hope he will settle better, I can see him being competitive.
Tips: COMMAND THE STARS
16.10 Halliwell Jones Handicap
JUPITER AMMON is largely consistent despite searching for a first success and he’s not been beaten far on his last couple of starts. If the first-time cheekpieces bring about improvement, then this could be the day he gets his head in front.
Tips: JUPITER AMMON
