Chepstow Place 6 preview | 28th April

16.45 – Dunraven Windows Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m3f

FORTUNA LIGNA displayed fair form in bumpers, including when 3rd in a Listed event at Cheltenham behind Queens Gamble and ran really well when a staying-on fourth in a Grade 2 at Newbury over hurdles last time. This is a huge drop in grade, so she should be able to make the most of this golden opportunity and open her account in this sphere.

Selections: FORTUNA LIGNA

17.20 – Sun Trade Windows Handicap Chase – 3m2f

EL HAGEB ROSE is inconsistent but his best effort of the season was when second of 14 in a handicap chase here two starts ago and he is 7Ib below his last winning mark, so he’s considered. KINGS KRACKERTARA beat a next-time-out winner at Newton Abbot and she could be hard to beat with a similar effort in this race.

Selections: EL HAGEB ROSE, KINGS KRACKERTARA

17.50 – Braceys Maiden Hurdle – 2m

GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY improved majorly from his hurdles debut when second over C&D, splitting two decent prospects. He would have finished closer without a bad mistake at the third last hurdle and, with this being an ease in grade, he has an excellent chance to go one better.

Selections: GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY

18.25 – Dunraven Windows Handicap Chase – 2m3f

JETOILE is a two-time course winner and the form of his C&D success last time reads well as the second, Sail Away, trounced a good field at Ayr next time. This classy eight-year-old remains unexposed for his age and is fancied to give weight and beating to these with Daryl Jacob maintaining the ride as expected. He is the best horse in the race.

Selections: JETOILE

19.00 – Sun Trade Windows Handicap Hurdle – 2m

DEERE MARK struggled in the Morebattle Hurdle last month but will find this a lot easier and he won his two previous starts over hurdles. He remains on a fair mark and should be competitive, while TAKEIT EASY is 10Ib below his last winning mark now and could be a big player dropped in grade after no luck in a better race than this last time.

Selections: DEERE MARK, TAKEIT EASY

19.35 – Dunraven Bowl Novices’ Hunters’ Chase – 2m7f

FIRST PREFERENCE has been in great form between the flags and this isn’t the strongest of races to be making his rules debut, so he could be hard to beat under the experienced James King. HONEY I’M GOOD hasn’t shown much in two starts under rules and is the biggest threat to the former.

Selections: FIRST PREFERENCE, HONEY I’M GOOD
