MAXIOS PRIME won well last time out and should have more to come with Johnny Burke booked to ride. SAINTE LUCIE is dropped in grade and should be hard to keep out of the frame.

FLINTARA finished a very good second in this race last year off a 3lb higher mark and appears to have been aimed at the race again, so she’s my main play in the race. COCO MADEMOISELLE is another one to consider.

14.45 Catesby Estates Mares’ Challenger Series Final Handicap Hurdle
PAWAPURI shaped quite nicely when fourth on her stable debut at Chepstow last time out and could improve again off a 2lb lower mark with a strong pace to aim at. MERMAIDS COVE impressed when winning last time out and could pose a threat with a similar performance.

15.20 Aston Martin Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Chase
THEATRE NATIVE has made the frame in all three starts in this sphere and has a good chance of doing so again. Her trainer and jockey often do well at this venue and an opening mark of 125 for this mare could prove lenient. She is sure to be thereabouts if able to continue to progress. Top weight JUDICIEUSE ALLEN can also be included.

The form of each of SETTLE DOWN JILL’s efforts in bumpers look strong and it’s interesting to see her pitched into this race on her hurdles debut. It would come as no surprise to see her run well, while the likes of the consistent MISS CYNTHIA and Irish raider SPECULATRIX are others to note.
