Catterick Place 6 Preview | 4th March
14.10 Racing To School Claiming Hurdle
PIGEON HOUSE should be able to go very close in the opener. He returned to form when only finding one too good at Catterick and looks very well handicapped on the pick of his past form, including when successful off a higher mark in Ireland. The six-year-old can make his class count.
Tips: PIGEON HOUSE
14.40 racingtv.com Mares’ Maiden Hurdle
With fitness on her side, FLYING PIMPERNEL could be up to opening her account. She placed on two of her three bumper starts and should be capable of making her mark over timber. I think she will have too much for the Irish raider.
Tips: FLYING PIMPERNEL
15.10 WF Racing Keeping You On Course Handicap Chase
The in-form MARTY MCFLY can make it three wins on the bounce. This course winner is at the top of his game and has won both recent starts by a combined 16 lengths. Even off a 6lb higher mark, there’s no reason why he won’t prove hard to beat.
Tips: MARTY MCFLY
15.40 Happy 106th Birthday Frank Buttery Handicap Hurdle
JUNIOR DES MOTTES has excellent claims of making it three wins on the bounce. He absolutely powered to victory at Plumpton nine days ago and is the one to beat under his penalty. He’s a short price but looks the obvious standout choice.
Tips: JUNIOR DES MOTTES
16.10 Pointing Pointers Open Hunters’ Chase
GABORIOT disappointed at Aintree when last seen but this is a massive drop in grade and he is fancied to get back to winning ways. He is by far the best horse in the field and has C&D winning form in the book. The 10-year-old is impossible to oppose being up against much lower rated opponents than he’s used to.
Tips: GABORIOT
16.40 Flat Season Next Fillies’ ‘Junior’ NH Flat Race
ENYA shaped promisingly when runner-up on debut at Warwick and that form looks strong as the winner subsequently bolted up in a Grade 2 event at Kempton. He’s undergone wind surgery since and must have every chance of going one place better.
Tips: ENYA
