Carlisle Place 6 Preview | 3rd February

13.30 Racing TV Novices’ Hurdle

IT’S TOP must have leading clams in the opener on his second go in this sphere. He underperformed in two starts after scoring on debut but did shape quite nicely on hurdles bow at Newbury. The winner is a useful sort and this youngster is bound to improve a lot for that experience.

Tips: IT’S TOP

DELLA CASA LUNGA (NAP) was the best of these over hurdles and is fancied to make a successful chase debut. She won a really strong hurdle event in December of 2024, making all and there’s a chance she will be able to dominate this event over this trip. If not, she should get an ideal setup anyway, and she boasts a good record in small-runner events.

Tips: DELLA CASA LUNGA

14.35 British Stallion Studs EBF Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle

SEVARANA looks like a safe option. This bumper winner ran well when second on hurdles debut to Oh Clare, and although she has turn the form around, I see no reason why she cannot bridge the gap at least. She is a solid choice to at least reach the frame.

Tips: SEVARANA

15.05 Racing TV Mares’ Handicap Chase

The Tizzard team is in superb form of late and that positive could see top weight ILOVETHENIGHTLIFE open her account over timber. She has often been seen performing in stronger company than this and might be able to get a soft lead. She looks handicapped to make a serious impact.

Tips: ILOVETHENIGHTLIFE

15.35 Watch Racing TV Handicap Hurdle

SMART DECISION is making giant strides over hurdles, winning five of his eight starts and looked unlucky not to score in the two other completed starts when narrowly denied. Eased in grade off only a 2lb higher mark, this progressive five-year-old is handed the vote to continue his excellent strike-rate.

Tips: SMART DECISION

16.04 Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Chase

Plenty to consider in this event. However, I’m going to take a chance on ROB ROY MACGREGOR, who produced a sound effort when second at Ayr last time out. He’s only gone up a pound as a result and is open to further improvement, so hopefully another solid performance is on the cards.

Tips: ROB ROY MACGREGOR
