Carlisle Place 6 Preview | 22nd March

13.45 Pauline Phizacklea Memorial Novices’ Hurdle

ROCKING MAN has a good chance to get back to winning ways. The team are continuing to fly in serious form and this youngster was running well in a Grade 2 last time out before something seemed amiss two out. He can make his class count.

Tips: ROCKING MAN

14.15 Racing Post+ Handicap Hurdle

Plenty to consider in this event but the marginal vote goes to KARMA DE COTTE. He’s shaped with promise on all four starts and moves into handicap company off a fair mark of 103. I think he’s capable of getting seriously involved.

Tips: KARMA DE COTTE

14.45 Mark Nield Wealth Management Handicap Hurdle

SCOTS POET is still on a losing sequence but his last two efforts have been encouraging and he’s dangerously well handicapped based on past exploits. It could come as no surprise to see Ewan Whillans’ charge make a serious impact.

Tips: SCOTS POET

15.17 Mark Nield Wealth Management Go North One Man Series Final Handicap Chase

SPADESTEP has been extremely consistent to date under rules, with six seconds and a win from seven starts. He would have gone close last time out but for a shuddering mistake at the final fence. Redemption could be on the cards.

Tips: SPADESTEP

15.52 Mark Nield Wealth Management Go North Red Rum Series Final Handicap Chase

RED DELTA ran a solid race when third in the Eider Chase when last seen, and while this trip might be on the sharp side, the seven-year-old reappears off an unchanged mark. With more to come in this sphere, I can see him going close.

Tips: RED DELTA

16.27 Racing Post+ Subscription Go North Monet’s Garden Series Final Handicap Chase

WILLIAM OF YORK won this race two years ago and was in the process of running really well until unseating his rider at Doncaster last time out. The 10-year-old is 8lb below his last winning mark, so he must be in with a serious chance.

Tips: WILLIAM OF YORK
