13.05 – Join Racing TV Now Novices’ Hurdle – 2m4f

This looks a decent novice hurdle race to start proceedings and GLOBAL FLAME showed a lot of promise on hurdle debut behind Harry Senior before going one better next time out at Wetherby. He’s undergone a recent wind-op which should prove beneficial and he remains a promising prospect with plenty more to offer.

WAGNER looked useful when running out an 18-length winner at Taunton when last seen under similar conditions he’ll encounter here and there should be more to come representing an in-form stable, who continue to bang in the winners of late.

Selections: GLOBAL FLAME, WAGNER

13.35 – Gordon Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 2m4f

Brian Ellison’s BARON DE MIDLETON was a dual winning novice hurdler last season and his opening fifth over fences here over two-miles last time looked promising. He should progress further back up in trip and looks a solid option to reach the frame at the very least.

The top-weight MINELLA TRUMP shouldn’t be discounted for the Brian Hughes and Donald McCain combination. He won back-to-back novices in 2019 and was first past the post against the 140 plus rated The Cashel Man at Bangor on his penultimate outing, which demonstrated his ability even further. He’s likely to be even better over fences given his solid point-to-point background (1-1).

Selections: BARON DE MIDLETON, MINELLA TRUMP

14.05 – Visit racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle – 2m1f

All of these would have some sort of chance on their best form, so I’m going to side with three.

CATCHMEIFYOUCAN will enjoy conditions and he shaped encouragingly on a fair few occasions last season. This stiffer emphasis on stamina will be right up her street and she returns with her yard in good form, so she’s an each-way player.

NEFYN POINT could only manage seventh in this race twelve months ago, but that was on seasonal debut and he can be identified as being 1Ib lower this time around with a run under his belt, and that will stand him in good stead under Theo Gillard.

INSTANT REPLAY is better known as a chaser and is evidently better in that sphere but he’s well treated over hurdles and has the potential to run a big race given his latest third over C&D offered promise.

Selections: CATCHMEIFYOUCAN, NEFYN POINT, INSTANT REPLAY

14.40 – Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase – 2m4f

The feature race on the card and it looks an absolute belter.

Tom George’s BLACK OP could offer a bit of value given his record fresh is decent and he retains low mileage over fences. He was last seen finishing a close-up second in a Grade One on Boxing Day and will find this much easier then the level of opposition he faced last year, including the likes of Lostintranslation, Defi Du Seuil and Topofthegame. He’s a former Grade One winner, which gives him a distinct advantage over his rivals.

Kim Bailey’s IMPERIAL AURA made giant strides last season and signed off his campaign with an excellent win at the Cheltenham Festival. He’s sure to have more to offer this season and holds leading claims on his return to action with ideal conditions.

Selections: BLACK OP, IMPERIAL AURA

15.10 – Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f

Dan Skelton’s WEST TO THE BRIDGE caught the eye when second on his reappearance four weeks ago having travelled strongly throughout and looked poised to collect when joining the eventual winner at the final hurdle but Sirrobbie held a fitness edge and enhanced the form at Cheltenham next time out. He’s up 4Ib here but looks capable of going close with heavy ground winning-form to his name.

Sue Smith’s SILVA ECLIPSE loves the mud and returned with a good third at Wetherby a few weeks ago. He still looks on an attractive mark considering he’s been so consistent for connections and although this trip looks on the short side, his stamina is likely to come into play.

Selections: WEST TO THE BRIDGE, SILVA ECLIPSE

15.45 – Cumberland Handicap Chase – 3m2f

A case can be made for quite a few of these but SOJOURN looks very solid and has improved at a rate of knots. He made a winning chase debut on his penultimate outing and lost little in defeat when second in a similar event at Chepstow when last seen. He’s back from an absence but won’t lack for fitness.

Dan Skelton’s VERY FIRST TIME is a thorough stayer and won three-times last season. He’s surprisingly been dropped 2Ib for a cracking return to action last time out and looks to hold every chance of taking this contest.

Selections: SOJOURN, VERY FIRST TIME
