Bangor-on-Dee Place 6 preview | 5th September

13.50 – September Meeting Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

FINISK RIVER is by far the most appealing runner on the card. The only previous time he competed over a trip further than 2m5f, he bolted up by 24 lengths. He is 2Ib lower than when third of 20 at Cheltenham back in 2021 in a better race and will benefit for the drop in grade and step up in distance. I’m confident this 10-year-old will go close to taking the opener with the best form on offer coupled with a lenient mark.

Tips: FINISK RIVER

14.25 – Bangor-On-Dee Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m

ARCTIC FOX was in the process of running really on her last start over hurdles at Aintree until she took a late fall. She has been given a run on the Flat since and retains potential in this sphere with more to offer. The seven-year-old can beat her nearest market rivals by coming out on top.

Tips: ARCTIC FOX

15.00 – Carr & Associates LLP Handicap Chase – 3m

QUID PRO QUO hasn’t lived up to the early promise in his career but he has progressed over fences and after winning at Southwell, he has placed in all three starts since. He could be hard to beat now stepping up in trip, while FIDUX is well handicapped on the pick of his form and should be thereabouts.

Tips: QUID PRO QUO, FIDUX

15.35 – Gaskells Waste Management Handicap Chase – 2m4f

A tight race this is. GO ON CHEZ has an excellent record over fences and should continue that in this easier race than when second last time. VINTAGE FIZZ ran well when third at Cartmel last time and should be involved, while THE BIG JETAWAY has won his last three starts and has a chance. NORTHERN BOUND has C&D winning form and cannot be ruled out either.

Tips: GO ON CHEZ, VINTAGE FIZZ, THE BIG JETAWAY, NORTHERN BOUND

16.10 – Proactive Personnel Handicap Hurdle – 2m

Donald McCain could be set to continue a good day with VE DAY, a winner of his hurdles debut and has made the frame three times in this sphere since. He chased home a subsequent winner at Stratford and will make his handicap debut off a handy mark, so he must be respected.

Tips: VE DAY

16.45 – Flash: A Tribute To Queen Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

Yet again, Donald McCain has another great chance of success on the card, this time with TARAGRACE who has gone close here the last two times and should be able to continue her sequence of fine efforts in defeat. MY POEM has a win and a second from her two starts this year and is another to consider.

Tips: TARAGRACE, MY POEM
