  Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been appointed as Manchester United manager on a permanent basis, as Tottenham’s fantastic week continues. Solskjær has been awarded a three year deal after an extraordinary spell as caretaker manager in which he has won 14 of his 19 matches in charge, reducing the gap to the Champions League positions from 11 points to two.

  A piece of chewing gum, said to be the last used by Sir Alex Ferguson during his illustrious career as Manchester United manager, has sold for £390k on eBay. The gum was picked up by a fan at the Hawthorns after Ferguson’s final match in charge of the Red Devils, a 5-5 draw with West Brom on the 19th May 2013 which was his 1500th in charge of the club.
