13.15 British Stallion Studs ‘Carrie Red’ EBF Fillies’ Nursery

Richard Spencer has two good chances in this event. SEXY CHICK outran her odds when fifth in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes, so although she will have to concede weight to all, I can see her going well under Oisin Murphy. Stablemate SPEED OF SOUND finished a good third behind Sun Goddess at York when last seen and is the other one to consider.

13.50 Weatherbys 300,000 2-Y-O Stakes

NIGHT IN VEGAS ought to prove hard to beat following a comfortable win at Newmarket. He has won three of his five outings and ran well on his two other starts at Group 2 level. He can come out on top, with SATELLITE OF LOVE next best. His latest fifth at York was a solid effort, so he can chase home the favourite.

14.25 Pertemps Network Handicap

BESIEGED only found one too good on his first couple of starts before absolutely bolting up at Salisbury. That wasn’t a strong event but he has more to come and will make his handicap debut off a fair mark for his in-form stable. He is a leading contender, while Alan King’s SPYCE has some good form to his name in stiffer events and could have a part to play at the finish.

15.00 Betfred Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes (Fillies’ & Mares’ Group 2)

Group 1 winner CONSENT came so close to winning this race twelve months ago when just denied by a neck and this race appears to have been the long-term plan again, so she’s fancied to make another bold bid. FAIRY GLEN is interesting on her return having ran well at the highest level in France when last seen and must enter the mix.

15.35 Betfred May Hill Stakes (Fillies’ Group 2)

The unbeaten MUSICAL TIMES just beat SCOMMESSSA SICURA on debut and there shouldn’t be a lot between the pair here. Both bring the best form to the table and have very nice records. I’m not sure who will come out on top so it’s best to include both and hope one of them can land the spoils. They set the standard.

16.10 Meadowhall X Flannels Beauty Bar Nursery

WAASIL has improved since finishing fourth on debut, winning back-to-back events at Beverley and Newbury. He’s up in grade but must have every chance of completing the hat-trick with the step up in trip bound to suit. ZARAKOVA battled to success at Newmarket when last seen and is the other one to note with more to come.
