TALL TREES looks a good bet in the first race on the card. She’s placed on her last couple of outings, including when a good third over C&D last time out in a stronger event. She won’t need to improve much more to land the spoils under Jamie Spencer.

14.15 Zyn Frontrunner Finish Handicap

The Alan King-trained ALCARATH ran really well when a good second over C&D last time out and must have a squeak with a repeat showing off only a 3lb higher mark. He was only beaten a head that day and has more to offer, so he shades the verdict to hopefully go one place better.

14.50 BetMGM Atalanta Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Group 3)

The unbeaten SECRET OF LIFE looks the answer to this contest. She’s won on good to form, soft to heavy and even on the all-weather, proving herself on all ground. Her latest win came over track and trip, powering to a near three-length success, and she looks capable of taking this higher-grade contest. I really fancy her chances.

15.30 BetMGM Solario Stakes (Group 3)

I was really impressed with the way BREACHER comfortably beat and odds-on favourite on debut at Salisbury. He had over two lengths in hand at the finish and is well worth a crack at this level based on that evidence. This son of the mighty Cracksman can make his mark.

This is competitive. However, if the ground does turn soft then the answer could be GOD OF WAR having won this race twelve months ago off a 4lb higher mark. The ground was soft that day, so it seems like conditions may again be in his favour. He’s of interest in his bid to defend his crown.

The hat-trick seeking WAASIL makes plenty of appeal. He has improved massively since his debut fourth, winning back-to-back events at Beverley and Newbury and is open to even further improvement. There’s no reason why he cannot produce another career best, even if conditions deteriorate.
