HOLI SCARLETT looks capable of going close in the opener. She was last seen finishing a good third at Newmarket and this looks like a much easier contest. I see no reason why the drop in distance won’t suit, so she’s the one I want to side with.

This isn’t the easiest race to solve. However, HINT OF HUMOUR is only a pound higher than when last successful, albeit that was on the all-weather. She completed a four-timer last year, which started around this time, so she earns the vote to potentially return to winning ways.

15.35 Chasemore Farm EBF Maiden Stakes

PALACE LEGACY caught the eye when third on debut at Epsom and he should be a lot more straightforward with that run under his belt. I can see him being in the mix, though the one to probably beat is recent C&D second, Thunder Home.

16.10 House Of Killik Handicap

I quite like the look of HUNGARIAN, who has run well on all of his starts, including when placing in two big-field events at Newmarket and deservedly opened his account on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time out. He ought to go very well.

POETS PRAISE hasn’t looked short of promise after three outings to date and should come on plenty from her reappearance effort at Wolverhampton. Given the yard she represents, a mark of 68 must be within range granted any normal improvement.

I’m going to take a chance on GALYX, who hasn’t been beaten far on his last couple of starts and ought to appreciate the drop down in grade. He’s more than capable of being competitive at this level, so he’s fancied to make a big impact.
